Davis Creek is a fun and for the most part "simple" trail, there are a few sections where caution is stressed along the creek bed and drop offs. Be careful on the narrow wood bridges as I crashed very bad on one of these when they were wet. Bad news when the trail is wet due to the roots and rocks and bridges that kill traction

Take the middle ridge road uphill to teabury trail, ride the downhill which is amazing, to the davis creek trail, and ride the davis creek back to your car....great ride, if you can keep from bitin it.

This trail is absolutely great. It has some very scenic areas (see the picture) and a sprinkling of technical stuff as well. Nothing too hard here. It's just tons of fun. If you want a great leisurely ride, start here.

Customer Service

Go to the Kanawha State Forest. Find the pool. You're there.

The entire KSF trail system is great; it's got something for everyone. I've considered moving closer to Charleston just to be closer to this MTB resource.

This trail is best at night. This trail begs to be ridden very fast. Actually, fast is the only way this trail is fun since it is so flat. BUT, when I'm jamming on the narrow trising singletrack at high speed, I seem to always nearly kill a hiker. They just pop out at you, unless you go at night, then watch out for the deer.

Customer Service

I travel this trail as an alternative to riding pavement on my way out of the park.

i usually use davis creek as an alternative to riding the paved park roads, its a nice little warm up or cool down after rides, mostly flat with some rolling, to make it more interesting, take a buddy try to race/pass on the trail-

Great trail for a beginner or a good warm up for other trails at the park. Beginners might want to be careful on some parts due to the narrow track next to a drop off. Great trail to fly and jump tree roots.

Customer Service

Enter the forest and take an immediate left, park on in the gravel spot on the right. The trail starts by going through the grass in frot of the parking space.

this is a fun beginner trail, but is does have some techincal sections and front suspension is recomended due to all the roots and rocks. ride it out and back, you will have more confidence coming back. I would suggest not riding this hard and fast during busy times due to the large number of hikers that would prefer bikers were not on this trail!! remember to be polite!!!

The first hill is the hardest, but the most rewarding. I've seen so many people slide it into the creek there just trying to fight their way up. From there to the Ranger's Cabin it's time to fly! The Cabin to the Pool is another fast-paced section, just let the chain and the rings humm beneath you as you fly through it. At the pool, cross the bridge, ride through the parking lot to the right, towards the creek, fly down a dip and carry on. This is the only rough section of the trail. There are places with rocks, some places the trail tries to toss you into the creek (which is very unsanitary, trust me), and up a pretty steep hill for this kind of trail. On the backside there used to be steps, but they eroded away. Don't be a fool, please dismount, and keep it from becoming a cliff there. Ride it to the end at Copperhead Rock, climb the boulder, then head back the way you came (those "steps" are much more intersting on the way back). Just a fast ride. Builds your root skills. And PLEASE dismount where it asks you, I dont want this trail to fall into the creek before my children get to ride it.

Customer Service

Start at the parking lot just to the left of the park enterance. Go through the large meadow and there it is. Make sure at the pool you cross the parking lot.

my wife and i rode here for the first time on memorial day weekend. this place is awesome. we camped and rode the trails are great well marked as well. we are already planing a return trip very soon. it rained some before we got there but the sandstone seems to drain well. it was only 3 1/2 hours from home. go and ride you'll be glad you did. also check out black bear trail.
