If you take the trail up to the fire tower you'll hate it, the sand is murder. But there are a bunch of good packed dirt roads all over that are good for riding, you just have to keep an eye out for people on ATVs, but for the most part they take it easy and don't get too wild and out of control. |

Ok, I've only been to this place once, and it was in 1996. I stopped off there on my way to Colorado, for a break and a nice ride. I'm only writing this review to warn people who might see those positive reviews, make a trip out there, and get disappointed. That 5-star review was apparently written by a 4-wheel ATV rider, so be warned. There's one thing I remember about this place: sand, sand, sand. Totally unrideable sand. They don't call them the sandhills for nuttin'! This place is great for MOTORIZED off-road fun. My 2wd Isuzu pickup got stuck 3 times, but I had a blast dodging cows on the trail, and somehow made it out of there. Customer Service none Similar Products Used: Wildcat Hills |

You'll see there is a lot of changes in the terain and vegation. One minute you'll be on long flat strait aways and then you'll be in an area where there are steep hills and thick trees. I recomend this trail for all ages and groups of people. Care should be taken in some areas and everyone should wear Proper Protective Equipment/clothing. Customer Service Start at the main campground and ride the dismal trail 11 miles south to the Whitetail campground. Similar Products Used: The Forest Service recomends that everyone stays on designated trail and not to be makeing new one! We (ATV riders) should respect this or we will loose our privliges!!!! |
