--TRAIL UPDATE-- Binder Lake Trail is now approximately 13.5 miles of sweet, twisty, tight, single track for riders of all levels. Designed as a stacked loop system, BLT (because like a BLT everybody loves it and it's oh so satisfying) has something for everyone. You won't find another trail that gives you this much in a city park where your never more than 5 minutes from your car. Spider webs? Really? There are rocks, dirt and trees too! Spider webs! BLT usually gives up at least 200 days of unforgettable rides per year.
Customer Service Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Sunday one way, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday the opposite. The next week repeat.

There is about 13.5 miles of trail for all levels of ability. Singletrack is smooth and flowing, well maintained by a local group (Osage Region Trail Association - ORTA). The Yellow and Red loops provide more technical challenge for the experienced rider. Plan to spend an afternoon exploring the different parts and expect to see other trail users. Customer Service Most people start at the kiosk near the old bait shop. Veer right upon entering the woods and follow the western halves of the Green and Blue loops to the other end of the park. Cross over Rainbow Drive at the south entrance and take the small bridge into the Red loop. When you spill back out on Rainbow Drive take a right across the causeway and turn left into the drive leading to the campground. The trail will veer off this road into the field to enter the woods. A short way in turn right and follow the trail around until you dump out at the entrance again. Recross the causeway and climb the field to continue with the eastern halves of the Blue and Green loops back to the kiosk. Similar Products Used: Rock Bridge State Park Trails, Columbia

First and foremost: I'm writing this review because I have ridden BLT since 1995 and have had the great pleasure of observing its development from a scant 3 mile loop, to it's current (roughly 12 mile) distance. Although I currently reside and ride in Northern California and have had very little time on BLT in the last two years or so, I still find this to be one of my favorite trails (with a bias of this being my home trail). It is well laid out with a great flow. It holds up well to the elements partially due to the loamy soil, and in part to a very sustainable layout thanks to some well educated trail designers . It is challenging enough without depleting you for the drive home. The trail is well taken care of by the locals but do expect some sections to have some standard fatigue from time to time. Talk to Nick at Red Wheel for recommended routes. And yes, spiders do feast well on this trail in the morning (get over it, you're in their territory, and this is some nice, tight singletrack). This is simply a trail to appreciate that can be consistently ridden without a lot of fuss or destruction to your bike. It does have the presence of quintessential XC riding wrapped in an easy-access package. Similar Products Used: Rock Bridge. Finger Lakes (more motorcycle oriented). Rhett's run. |

Love this trail.
Customer Service Do them all at least twice. I had no problem clocking average speed of 9+ mph Similar Products Used: Rockbridge is a nice cruiser, Rhett's run has some fun challenges but too choppy to get in nice flowing sessions. |

If you enjoy spider and web dinners you'll love this trail! The first 2 loops were web free, but the third or fourth south of the trailhead at the tackle shop was filled with webs. I nearly died once because I closed my eyes upon seeing a magnificently large web and spider and when I opened them I was inches from one of the largest rock dropoffs at the park...if nothing else the spider webs add a degree of difficulty. but i call it suckiness. a great cross country course besides the spiderwebs. fairly flowing, somewhat twisty. some loose rock, some boulders, mostly dirt. basically teh spiderwebs ruined it for me. that third trail was very overgrown too. we'll see what kind of rashes i get. overgrowth and webs ruined it for me. very disappointed. if you live in jeff city go for it, otherwise i don't think its worth more than a 20 minute drive. Customer Service only the first to loops unless you like spiders. |

I've ridden R.B. park in Columbia for years, and lately began riding Rhett's Run at Cosmo Park. If you've ridden R.B., you know it's not very technical--to the point of being boring at times. And if you've ridden Rhett's and seen how technical and twisty it is, and wondered why R.B. was laid out so badly in comparison, well Binder is the answer to, "What would R.B. be like if it was laid out like Rhett's?"
Customer Service Counter clockwise on the Green to the Blue. Always stick to the right and you'll make it back eventually. |

This is my hometown track and I ride it alot... The markings arnt the best but Ive only got lost once so I guess thats not too bad and that was my first time riding it... You can get maps and you wont get lost This is generally a easy place to ride but it has some technicle sections.... This was the first track I ever rode and I had some problems at fisrt but now i can breeze threw all of the trails (except a fer alternatie roughts) This Trail is alot of fun for me now and was alot of fun when I started...I reccomend binder trails to anyone of any skill level Customer Service I prefer the Red trail.... It is alot of fun with a lot of ditches and just some un things to fire on I also like the green or blue trail (its not very well marked) but it has some jumps and a lot of cool bridges.... the red trail is entered over a log bridge from the main binder rode and to get to the green or blue you go threw a field to the inlet whitc you take a right off the main rode to find (there is a small sighen) |

Very well groomed and marked trail! I started at the green trailhead and worked my way around the blue trial then cut across to the red trail. The red trail was the most difficult one with some big flat rocks and deep but empty creek beds but it was a blast. I would highly recommend this trail for someone just starting or even someone that has some real skill. It was a lot of fun! |
