hmmmm, first time I rod this trail I was TOTALLY disapppointed. Second time I rode, it was better. Here's how I see it:
For the XC rider there's an hour of challenging single track and a half hour of tortureous freeride stuff.
For the Freeride crew it's an hour of stupid single track for 10 minutes of awesome riding.

Having said that, there's definitely great potential for some crazy Freeride stuff in there.

2 stars for now, maybe more later...

Interesting reviews,Hmmm... Here's how I see this trail... Fight Trail (and Gord's Gold) favours the rider who's talents are very well rounded and at an above average level.Whether its your technical or your fitness this network will improve both. Being able to jump off stuff isn't gonna help you if you can't climb onto it first. Being a climbing honch isn't gonna help ya if you have to slide down the other side on yer ass cuz ya can't ride it.
If you're busy whining about the parts of the trail you "don't like" (translation: can't ride)maybe it's time to shift your paradigm and become a better rider. We currently have no plans to install a shuttle bus into the 'extreme' parts of the trail...
Steep faces, bridges(both climbing and descending),tight and twisty singletrack,wheelie-drops and technical climbing are the norm for this trail so if that's yer gig I think you'll love it.
Gord's Gold addendum: This is a new trail off of Fight Trail. It turns right a hundred feet after the first major bridge(60 feet long)on Fight Trail and continues back to the start of Fight Trail at Colpitt Lake(thereby creating a loop). It starts with some very steep pitches and faces, moves into a series of bridges and then turns into faster granite sections. Once again, this trail is very technically demanding.
Fight Trail has more elevation change than Wrandees thereby ensuring longer descents...and longer climbs.
5 star rating cuz I'm sooooo biased!

If you like Wrandees and can ride at a pretty steady pace in there then you'll do just fine in Fight Trail. The big bonus over Wrandees is that the prevalence of granite makes Fight Trail a very well drained and (almost except for the first 10 minutes) mud free experience. Benefits of Wrandees includes being closer to the city so you can pop in for a shorter ride and you're also closer to the car or civilization in case of broken parts- either bike or rider.

Some of us have renamed this "sh*t trail", cuz thats basically what it it. Basically a hiking trail w/ some ladders 'n steeps. The problem is that you have to ride 45 minutes of total crap to get to the good stuff. With regards to the 1st guys coments; it has little to do w/ rider skill and alot to do w/ crappy singletrack. My favorite parts are all the broken glass and burned out cars. Hooray for Fight Trail.

well all the people who are whining about this trail are doing it out of pure stupidity, ohh you'll wreck you're tires, not if you arent a HACK running into every oncoming obtacle. this trail is in my opinion the best trail around and it's just getting started, don't bitc h about the long ride to the "good" stuff you are on you're bike not at home sitting on you're fat anus so it's all good.for the bitc hers and complainers make you're own trail somewhere near a tv so u don't miss you're fav show(when ga y's attack) and get off this one if all u can do is complain.
for the rest of us with some skill keep riding fast and hucking big.

This trail has a lot of great riding and definatly has potential to be the new place to go for those that have the 'nads, skill, and endurance. Your well-rounded mountain biking thrill seeker will love this trail. No, the first 45 minutes(well, actually 20 if you don't have to stop and wait for the shuttlebikers) isn't swoopy singletrack but it does have flow, and can all be ridden. The best part is that this first bit of inconvenience will keep away any fat posers who can ride for shit. It will save their asses from being thrown in the sling when they get to the *real* riding.I mean, theres another trail nearby where you can practically drive to the first bridge. Convenient, but deadly in the hands of some wank who thinks his "extreme" bike does the riding for him. Not that the first bit sucks or anything. Can't wait to see what "grows" on those rocks next.
Anybody can ride this trail but expect to do some walking if you aren't "extreme" or whatever the term is now...

Customer Service

Used to start at the dead end but the local crack whores were complaining. Now we go in behind a ball field about 2 minutes past the old way in.

Well, it would seem that the negative reviews of fight trail have struck a nerve. (one such review by myself.) Let me clarify my point - the stuff that is new and being constructed is very good! The ride in leaves a bit to be desired. And all you guys talking about rider skills - we all know that you guys are king and no-one can ride as good as you! Thats just understood! Maybe you guys could teach us how to ride! Anyway, enough with the war of words cuz it's all b.s. anyway- I didn't mean to insult anyone responsible for building fight trail! I have built some stuff myself and know first-hand the effort involved. I give props to the guys from the shop and their buddies doin' all the work. You know who you are! But I don't need attitude when I enter your shop, cuz I've been a good customer. I hope we can honestly all be cool! -Chad

I can't give it 5 stars, cuz of the hiking stuff(the stuff I'm not "good" enough to ride) but the man-made and new stuff deserves noting!
