Evil Birch - Trail, Halifax, Nova Scotia

Evil Birch - Trail, Halifax, Nova Scotia

DESCRIPTION

FUN! The most flowey and techy trail i know, oddles of man made stunts drops ranging from 2-9ft and lots of natural rock launches and steep granet faces. As of now its a in and out but hopefully it will link up with whopper.

Strength:

It is an overall amazing single track trail, great mix of roots, rock gardens, steeps, jumps, drops, and the list continues. One issue is that one year wasps nested at the drops half way though the trail, they are no longer there but keep an eye out around the wooden features mainly. Also you travel through an active quarry, (and they do blasting, one time a rock was shot over the highway about 200m+ they do the blasting after they close, closes at 5 but can do blasting as late as 7). Go on the weekends or be prepared to go at night. Also a security guard has been posted at the main entrance recently, so watch out. Overall worth riding in my opinion. 4/5

Weakness:

Read above as I forgot that the positives and negatives were separate.

Fun ride; lost a rim at head/end of trail on the way out, lots of roots and stumps. On a hot day walk up the brook theres a great pond for a swim.

Yeah it's straight in and straight out, but it has its moments. Nice ramps, good challenges but a real bad start.

My favourite other trail is to the bar at the Palace every Sunday for hot legs.
