DESCRIPTION

This place is made up of numerous small roads and trails so you have to be careful about not getting lost. There is a main road that is gravel in spots and it leads all the way up to the top of the mountain, which by car takes 20-30 minutes, at least.

I'm a little lost on your directions to this trail, but I think it's the dirt road that turns off the Route 102 by-pass around Oirase Gorge. If so, it's a good climb with a nice long downhill. The time I rode it I saw quite a few cars on the road, which forced you to be a little more cautious. You have a nice view of the river for a good part of the ride. A lot of the singletrack are dead-ends, but that's common in this area. It is a fun ride, nothing technical, but a nice fast downhill.

There's another trail just before this one on the same side of Oirase Gorge (I have seen a bear and mountain goats on that trail) that's another decent out-and-back, although it's kind of a short ride.
