Syntace W35 MX 29er Wheelset

DESCRIPTION

Light weight tyres with thinner side walls that roll better only really start to show good all-round performance when mounted to wide rims, without reduced puncture resistance. That’s why Syntace the W35 MX rims are really wide and also extremely light weight. Lighter than any other aluminium rims designed for the intended application. They are even on-par with extremely expensive carbon wheels which need immediate replacing when damaged, but are distinctly wider than these.

Strength:

Wide. Very stiff and strong. Responsive & fun on the trail. Superior German engineering. Easy to service ratchet system. Replacement generic spokes can be easily sourced if need be. Sets up tubeless easily. Sold individually, not as sets.

Weakness:

End caps on the rear hub should be secured when off the bike. The easy to remove end caps make for super easy service but might come off in rough and tumble off the bike transport. Lock on end caps are now available that will make this a non-issue.

A class act. Excellent ratchet system and all around sweet hubs. The rims are offset spoke bed (OSB) making for less dish and stronger wheels. The Sapim Cx ray spokes are top shelf also. The OSB and all around design & construction make these the first less than 36h 29er wheels that I have run in about a decade.

These wheels would be great for a 29er rider who rides anything heavier than pure XC but less than massive FR or full on downhill.

I like these so well that I'm buying a second set.

Disclaimer: I'm an unrepentant wide rim addict. Any rims less than 28mm wide internal are just no fun. Just a consumer, I have no ties to Syntace/Radsport...
