Arrow Racing DHX Rim

DESCRIPTION

The DHX, like all Arrow hoops, utilizes a variable wall thickness design that puts metal where it is required removing the need for things like weak spoke eyelets.

Seriously sexy rims, I bought a pair of new old stock 24 inch DHH's ( for £90 a rim ) as I had heard that they are insane and they are ! So good in fact that I phoned the place I got the last set from and bought his final two NOS sets ! Laced them to a set of Hope Pro 2 Evo hubs and I haven't looked back, they are by far the strongest wheel I have ever used, and I have used pretty much all of them, they get used but loved and they haven't put a foot wrong, They do not make them like this anymore, they are so good my other two sets I'm preserving lol !

Weakness:

They don't make them anymore, also every online picture of them the finish looks gloss black, however mine are more of a Matt finish then gloss and they mark quite easy but hey ho !

Weakness:

not a well known company
about 100-200 grams heavier than other rims

these rims are bullet proof, i have relaced these rims to a few different hubs to go with different bikes. these rims are now called dhh model, i believe they weigh in the middle 800 grams. i run these rims because rims are one thing i like to have over built so i dont taco or have to true them. from what i hear they are suppose to be one of the strongest rims and they are often compared to the mag 30s or the double tracks. i have used 24 and 26 both are great. the freeride version would probably be bet for anyone except people hucking 30ft cliffs

Very Strong, Stays true

Weakness:

heavy

Took these rims to hell and back, cased jumps and went though some gnarly rock gardens with them...never bent never saw any wobble, hell I never even had to true the tres in 2 years of rough free riding and DH. I now ride purely DH and am thinking of going back to these...they are heavy and are welded at the seem so it kind of evens out the pros and cons(depends on hwo you look at it and what matters to you). These rims will save you money in the long run is the bottom line.

Strength:

they keep true even in the most brutal condition. SOO strong ( i rode down a mountain with a rear popped tube...). They are also very beefy....

Weakness:

none, they are on the heavy side but not by much. I ride a very heavy bike anyway, it keeps me more balanced...

These are the best dh rims out there ive tryed mavic sun ringle and dt swiss.. these rims kick the crap out of all those brands, they are bombproof and can with stand the hardest hits and to prove that BENDER used them on the JAW DROP (55 feet) and didnt f*** them up...

After destroying my stock Rims, I am now running 32 hole 26" Arrow DHXs in the front and rear on my Rocky Mountain hardtail. I am pretty hard on my bike and these wheels have withstood all that I have dished out so far. They may be on the heavy side, but their strength makes it all worth it. I bought these Rims from www.go-ride.com for $69.00 per Rim.

very stong wheel, welded seam, 24", wide,

Weakness:

a little heavy

Good wheel, i have only ridden it for 3 weekends, but it seems very well built. I keep my tires pretty low, and have gotten less flats w/ this rim. Welded seam is nice. i think it will last a while. Also Go-Ride was able to build it w/ an offset dish, when nobody else seemed to be able to help me, so buy one through them. -good prompt service.

Uhhh. Strenghs. I think it really only has one strength. This is the strongest rim I've ever used.

Ideal User Profile: You tend to break anything you touch and don't like working on your bike.

This is a very strong rim. For its intended application(anything harsh) this rim can't be beat. I race and am more concerned with weight than durability. I used these rims for one whole season and they were still running true with no dents. If you are less concerned with weight this rim may last longer than you. A buddy of mine blew up a wheel with one of these rims (broke 15+ spokes) and the rim was still usable with new spokes. It wasn't perfect, but functional.

If you are looking for a lighter option to this rim consider the FRX from Arrow. This is a narrower version of the DHX to cut down weight. Don't be fooled by the decresed weight. These rims are still stronger than any other rim at the same weight. I raced for almost two whole seasons on a single set of the FRX rims. They are the most dent resistant rim out there today (from my experience). I came up a touch short on a 40+ foot double in Colorado two years ago. Everyone I was riding with was sure I had completely destroyed my rear wheel. Nope. Not even a hop. They were amazed.

Summary: DHX = Last rim you'll ever need to buy
FRX = Lighter last rim you'll ever need to buy (unless you're really harsh or 200+ pounds)
