Strength:

Great traction over mixed frozen surfaces. Good rolling resistance. Very supple tire (120 TPI model).

Weakness:

Very expensive. Mixed results when run tubeless.

This tire allows me to ride on trails that I wouldn't consider without a studded tire.

It'd be nice if the tire had a tighter fit on my Bontrager Jackalope rims so that it would work consistently tubeless.

A pair of these factory tires studded cost more than a set of tires for my car, but I wouldn't be riding on ice without them.

Strength:

Massive traction. supple ride.

Weakness:

Not the best ice-tire, skinnier is better there. Not the best snow tire, bigger lugs are usually better there.

Dillinger 5 studded. This is kind of an "all around tire", "jack of all trades". This thing has massive traction and keeps going on any kind of winter surface. Way way more traction (due to the studs) than my 5" Vee tires. These are expensive as all get-out, but it seems worth it. It feels like I can really lean the bike over and ride off-camber stuff, which is usually impossible in the winter. 26x2 studded is a better ice tire and 5" soft-snow tires with big lugs will be better in new-fallen snow, but these don't give up much to either. I'm happy I went with the D5s and not the D4s.

Strength:

Great traction.
Running tubeless down to 7 psi with no issues.
Sidewalls are tough, 120tpi casing (desert granite hasn't cut through them).

Weakness:

Holes in casing for studded setup throw a little sand at first.
Price

Excellent fat tire, highly recommend. Has held up very well for the torturous desert conditions we ride in. They don't roll as fast as the Husker Du, but it hooks up great.
