Strength:

Lightweight, works better than expected, very adjustable, looks great, smooth travel

Weakness:

Tough to fit onto my frame, but got it.

I have a Giant Warp DS3 and this was the final part I upgraded on the frame. Finding a quality coil damping shock for a 7.5 x 2.0 is not that easy. I found the Manitou Revox Pro in that size for under $150. Bought it because the reviews were great and it would look great with my red frame. It took some tinkering to get it to fit my frame, I almost returned it for an air can shock but took one last go and got it on. I am so happy I did. It is so smooth and plush it is ridiculous. Originally I thought it wasn't working because when I rode it around the block it didn't move while pedaling, until I his a small bump in the street and it compressed. I tinkered with the adjustments and finally have it dialed in for my weight & riding style. I have taken it on som crazy rocky XC trails and it has responded superbly. It keeps my wheel on the ground and has increased my speed on the trails by almost eliminating the pedal bob I was used to from the stock shock. I will update as I put more time and miles on this shock but so far it is the single best upgrade I have made, and I have upgraded everything except the actual frame. This shock has exceeded my expectations and has allowed me to have a better bike than I envisioned when I original bought my Giant in 2003. I will ride this bike into the ground.

Best shock so far. No experience with the CC one, but against DHX its awesome. For those who are looking for the best shock for their bike, with no money limit, its a great choice, you'll not regret.

Light, and adjustable, probably the best coilshock out their... even over the Fox DHX.

Weakness:

None so far.

by far the best shock Manitou has ever made for FR/DH. A Massive improvement over the Manitou Swinger 6-way, (which was the biggest peace of crap out there!) I'm just glad Manitou finally got it right... and I'm glad to have it, couldn't ask for a better shock.

Strength:

Pedals amaizingly well, looks beautifull, and has tons of adjustability.

Weakness:

None as of yet worth downgrading it for but the compression dampening when set to full min on both the high and low speed still feels a bit firm for what it should be at full min. Although it is still low enough you probably would never want it lower then those min setting anyway which is why its not really a problem.

So I have never liked Manitou products and have even seen (working in a shop which sells manitou products) a decent number of failures in other products of theirs. I went to purchase the new Trek Session 10 and probably would have without even riding it switched it for a DHX 5.0 which i have riden many times before including on my old bike and loved. But for the moral of the story I am sure glad that no one else makes a shock big enough for that frame except for Manitou. This shock functions like nothing you've ever riden before. It function on a speed sensitive valve as they call it which may sound like a bit of crap because thats what they all say (including Fox) but man this thing damn near locks out on the smooth climbs. And yet as soon as you hit the first bump the shock opens up and lets you enjoy all its wonderfull travel. Not to mention its incredibly hot looking with a really nice in house Ti spring standard. And it has adjustable: high speed compression, low speed compression, bottom out resistance, inertia valve pressure, rebound, and preload. All of which are pretty easily accessable and really do there job. Bottom line is i would still never ride a 6 way swinger but i love my Revox and would recomend it to anyone over just about any other shock on the market including DHX 5!

looks beautiful

Weakness:

a you kidding me,this shock is amazing,it's the best there is

this shock is the most awesome shock out there, the shock has 6 way's to adjust and the damping is unbeleavable way and way better then the dhx5.The shock preforms nothing but awesome and is so unbeleavable smooth,i love it.I'm lucky it came stock on my bike and delivers me 10 inches of travel with a 3.5 stroke. If you are looking for the ultimate rear shock in preformence look no further and buy a revox,it's the best shock you can get your'e hands on.

this shock doesn't reduce pedal bob, it is the session 10's frame that brings the chain up to the pivot point on the swing arm, thus making it pedal like an xc bike. Don't be fooled thinking its the shock, its not. Take a close look at the session 10's front sprocket and you'll see the chain is next to the pivot joint.

far superior to the dhx and 5th element. haven't tried the roco or double barrel, but i'm blown away by this thing. you don't know how crappy the dhx is until you try a revox. manitou made garbage until now. this is simply amazing. a very worth upgrade.
