Strength:

Light, stiff, smooth on regular trail/bumps, absorbs anything you throw at it

Weakness:

No quick release

I spent months deciding between a Fox or the Pike. After a visit to the Fox factory, I was completely sold on the new 36. Its lighter, arguably stiffer, and once you understand the engineering within it, the simplicity, the lack of moving parts...you will come to appreciate the intensity that these forks deliver. Fox designs the shocks for the F150 Raptor, motocross, MTB, everything...if you have a chance to visit the factory do it. They are such great people who LOVE their customers...unlike SRAM. The tuning and 'buttery' feel of these forks is amazing...a HUGE step up from previous models. I highly recommend them to anybody who does Enduro or Aggressive Trail Riding.

Strength:

Stiff, lightweight chassis, Large adjustment range with noticeable feel between settings. Kashima coat looks great and matches my Float X. Multiple axle and steerer tube configurations, post mounts for 180mm rotor without need for adapter

Weakness:

tools required for wheel removal

I just came off a 2015 Pike RC and although that was a great fork, I could not dial in the performance that I wanted. The RC2 on the Fox 36 allows you to dial in the fork for any terrain or riding style and in my opinion is much better than CTD forks from Fox. This fork came on my new Pivot Mach 6 and it works well at the factory settings and only gets better from there. I have only been riding on this fork for a couple of months so I cannot speak as to long term durability. I only gave this fork 4 chilis for value because it is an expensive fork to buy aftermarket, but if you can get it as OEM equipment then it is well worth the cost of admission, without question.
