I have had this stock on my bike for 3 years and its held up. I am however very excited to upgrade this part of my bike with a Marzhocchi TST 2.

For the price i have seen it at (around $80) its a good fork. I have never had a problem with it, i ride to classes all week in winter which is a 2 mile round trip and its held up fine. For a budget fork to hold up like it has is pretty impressive.
Also i do backpacking with my bike, it recently was loaded with around 90 lbs of gear it performed normally.

Strength:

it was a better piece of crap than the manitou black that i purchased to replace it. Not a bad stock fork it has issues but when something unexpected came up on the trail it performed better than i thought and saved my butt.

Weakness:

loud annoying sounds like something you would get on a walmart special but its a low end fork and coil sprung but it does the job if you are going to replace it with something else dont go cheap like i did this out performed manitou black air 100/120 fork by far

This fork does well for a stock coil sprung fork. i came hualin a-- down the trail couldn't make a corner hit a rock square on that was almost 3 foot tall leaned back and this fork actually sucked most of it up and rode over it instead of getting tossed over the bars wich is what i was expecting to happen. I wouldn't look for one to buy but if its on your bike don't replace it with more crap. spend a little more because its not that bad.

Strength:

very good for beginner. didn't fall apart yet....

Weakness:

sorta heavy, not real smooth.

i'm a freshman in highschool and this shock came on my bike. I made varsity my freshman year which i'm pretty proud of and i'm 5th best on the team. This shock has held out really well so far but i'm definately going to get a new bike soon.

Strength:

soft, reliable on the trail, reasonably light, soaks up the bumps and a few other things

Weakness:

no cable housing for my disc brake cables on the fork. Mabye a little to soft.

Great fork for a beggening rider. very plush, but dosent seem to sturdy, mabye a little to thin. stickers suck, and came off in a couple of rides. I rated this 4 stars because it was a pretty good Orignal Equipment on my Iron Horse Maverick. I gave it only 4 stars on the overall rating because it seems a little thin and a little too plush when it is warm out.

Strength:

Good Geometry seems soak up the bumps good. Good cushion

Weakness:

Seems to pop when extending if the fork is tightened up to much.

Good shock for a beginner will be upgrading very soon. Gave it a 3 because this is by far the best shock I have ridden on a beginner shock.

So far i cant find the stregnth

Weakness:

No stiffness .. I will admit though I have a Manitou Black on my Trek Fuel and that twists so easily compared to this one

Eh i guess cant complain for bone stock components. Plan on upgrading all major components shocks, forks, wheels, Hubs etc but hey i got the bike for 50% off

Strength:

Good entry fork with good features, OX valve, lockout and preload. couldn't expect more than those features for a fair price i paid for.good damping and hardly bottoms out.

Weakness:

hardly any but it seem when adjusted to its softest, it goes 'thunk' most of the time when i jumped.

If you're a budget bounded fork hunter, this fork has got to be in your list to consider. Good value with features that not most of the equivalent forks would provide. I'd say, its a little better than RS Dart 2 o 3 in terms of XC. If you're good, re-build this fork to get it sing properly. I give it 2 thumbs up for its value and performance.
