    Strength:

    light, easy flow

    Weakness:

the preload adjustments don't even work!

It's a good suspension when it's new. It is realy soft but that didn't seem to bother me cause i'm only 150lbs. After like 2 races the suspension was dead, it had so much play in it i thought it was going to fall apart. If you are a beginer ridder don't get convinced that they are good by the retailer, like i did, they suck!

    Strength:

Fairly lightweight, combination of coil springs and MCU, air damping, one piece magnesium sliders and brace, and low cost.

    Weakness:

    None yet discovered.

This fork, at a mere £80, is a superb bargain that performs well above its price. However, more accomplished riders may wish to purchase a fork with more travel, full coil springs and externally adjustable rebound and compression damping. If you just want a solid fork that performs well, for a reasonable price, though, then this will be just perfect.

    Cheep
    good for the price
    good for light riders

    Weakness:

    Bad for bigger riders
bottoms out very easy (for over 150lbs)
shakes & rattles like crazy on downhills

It came with the bike, I weigh 178lbs and I bottom this fork like crazy. I ride pretty hard, down rocky slopes sometimes, but I've only been doing it a couple of months.
First couple of rides it was great compared to no suspension, but on the second and third ride, the shock was bottoming out and making all sorts of rattling, I thought my handlebars were going to come off at any minute!

    ******************Bottom Line***************************

    - Good fork for lightweight riders
    - Good fork for smooth trails
    - Great fork for price (I would think)

    Strength:

    +"TWIN AIR" air damping
    +Adjustable preload
    +Magnesiun sliders
    +3 inch travel (76 mm)
    +Top out bumpers!

    Weakness:

    -Non adjustable damping

Unlike its horrid apprentice, the Gamma EL, the Gamma TL has RST's "Twin Air" damping which makes a %100 difference in performance. The RST Twin Air damping system will prevent violent front wheel dive downs that are associated with non damped forks, that's pretty much what damping is. And if in any chance the Gamma TL would top out, the top out bumper will minimize the top out impact. The RST Gamma TL is 100x's better than the Gamma EL!

    -----------------The Bottom Line-------------------:)

:) Ideal buyer- Someone who wants durable performance in a inexpensive fork!

:( Non Ideal buyer- Someone who doesn't like RST.
