    Strength:

Quality aluminum frame w/ oversized tubes, good saddle and great brakes. Handles well and is fairly light. Shifts easily.

    Weakness:

Nothing for the price. The fork is a little soft, mostly because I'm on the heavy side(250 lbs/6'-3"); going to get replaced with a Manitou SX this spring (bought it for the Rockhopper previously.)

Great value bike for weekend warrior trailriding.

Older Specialized Rockhopper. Liked the Giant Rainer, but wasn't ready for that much investment just yet. Nice bike.

    Strength:

This review is for the 2003 500HT. This bike has a great front suspension, frame, Shimano components, and disk brakes. All this for a great price.

    Weakness:

The color: Dark purplish/blue. Also, Motobecane is hard to find.

Great Bike - both on the road and off. I tried similarly equipped and priced competitors and loved the feel of the 500HT. The ride is balanced - an equally good on the street or on a trail. Throw in the disk brakes, smooth front suspension and great overall ride and you have a great bike.

    Strength:

Strong frame,Has comfortable handelbar position, shifts great. And awsome brakes.

    Weakness:

Shimano crank not the best for me.

I am 6"1 300 lbs I can tear up a bike beleive me! Most people of average size will not have the same issuses. The front suspension has held well considering how much weight I put on it..Over all a great bike I am very impresses and for the price nothing can touch it .Were else can you get a great mtb under 500.00 with disc and have this quality.. I liked it so much I bought my wife the 300HT, but no upgrades there she is not fat like me and dosent need the added reinforcement!
