MET Parachute HES Full Face Helmet

DESCRIPTION

Weighing merely 700g (size medium), the Parachute is the lightest full face in the world certified to American ASTM F1952-2032 standards, the only authority which certifies full face bicycle helmets.

Our integrated fixed chin guard is designed to offer maximum protection. Strong, lightweight and highly ventilated, the Parachute is ideal for Enduro, allowing you to tackle climbs and descents whilst wearing the same helmet.

Packed with features, we’ve really thought of everything. Our Safe-T Advanced system allows you to fine tune the fit for optimum comfort and safety. The Homopathic Embedded Skeleton adds strength. The Gel 02 padding feels cool on your forehead and remains odour-free. Our rib system keeps your goggle strap in place. And our multi-brand compatible camera mount is easy to install and remove.

Strength:

Light weight. Good ventilation

Weakness:

Chin strap is WAYYYY TOO SHORT. Difficult to strap on the helmet and even more difficult to remove the helmet. Terrible customer support. Basically, you're on your own.

Purchased a MET Parachute and found that the strap is too short. Contacted MET and they sent me a pic of how long the strap should be, mine was 20mm shorter than the one in the pic they sent (sized up next to a ruler). Met refused to replace the helmet or even the chin strap, saying it still met their standards...really? Very difficult to strap on and even more difficult to remove the helmet. Sometimes it'll take me 3 mins to remove the helmet. I prefer companies who support their product. Just an FYI...buyer beware.

Strength:

Air flow , outstanding ventilation , Air flow ! Light weight , Comfortable ! I was really impressed with how much air was getting into my head on a family warm day.

Weakness:

You may not like the helmet strap . The strap is like a real helmet no clips you have to put it through two open bars and lope it back and then snap it back to the strap its just like a motocross helmet. Buying it over seas off EBAY maybe a weakness, although I had no issues at all it was here in 2 weeks. What I have found out is there is a shipment of Parachute helmets being sent out to Mets US distributor ship and those will be for sale in the US . The retail store I bought it from in the UK was not supposed to sell the Parachute in the USA over some stipulation of USA codes, Met has to have special helmets for the USA sales, I found this out because I already broke my visor from hitting a tree and wanted to replace it and Met will not ship parts to the USA for this helmet. Luckily I have connections in my home town of Italy. This is the first time I every needed spare parts for a helmet in over 10 years so I don't think that is a big factor.

Outstanding helmet comfort is a 10
Air flow was incredible on a 70 degree day I had no overheating issues.
Light weight ,I never felt like this was a heavy helmet after riding for 3 hours
The chin pads come in different thicknesses or sizes
The front head strap is made from silicone so it does not get full of sweat and will last .
Nice google holder in the back .
Vison was very good no issues after wearing a open face helmet the last 2 years.
Comes with a nice carrying case and a camera mount.
I tried the New Bell Super R2 regular and with the Mips and both were so uncomfortable I took them both back.
After using the older Met helmet for years before I broke it and this newer version Parachute HES these last few rides I see no need to take off the chin strap . I thought it would be a real convince to take off the chin strap and climb to the top but now I really see its not that huge of an issue and even If the Bell was comfortable I would not stop and take it off and then put it back on thats just me others may find it a really nice feature . I wanted to really like the Bell but the comfort issue was not acceptable for me.
