I have Oakley Juliet x metal with Ruby lenses and recently i has changed the lenses to Prizm ruby daily. My god!! these Sunglasses are the best ever i have bought from a long list of sunglasses. No other sunglasses comes even close to the durability of the frame of these Juliets. These are not over priced at all looking at their durability and uniqueness factor. They fit the head perfectly as the grips customizes according to the head size and are lightweight not heavyweight at all despite being Titanium alloy made. The coolest sunglasses ever made for sure!!

Weakness:

The lenses scratch easily and you have to replace them after sometime. Also as i live in tropical climate here the sweat comes more and it spoils the rubbers easily more so you have to replace them after some years.

weight, you could wear these everyday? Yeah if you wanted permanent red marks on your nose. 4-6 hours and it hurts. Price.

I bought my glasses in 2000. Titanium finish with the fire tint. I just ordered my third set of lenses. Dropped my polarized lenses on a rocky surface and got some good scratches. Got crimson ruby non polarized lenses coming. The juliets are a perfect fit. Romeos are way too big. They mold to your head cause you'll notice the arms are crooked when you take them off.

plasma forged alloy frame is made from the strongest metals on earth. they fit around your face so well they may as well be anatomy, and when combined with oakleys slash strap they dont bounce around no matter how fast you're being.

Weakness:

its brand name is oakley.

Oakley Juliet brand Performance Eyewear is tailored to a rather peculiar, sparse crowd. that said, quite possibly the most functional eye wear piece ever created, but they make you look SO wierd! like in the way that could come off as bad weird, like a richy boy poser cluster, with theoretical girl-repelling qualities. which is definitely something you DO NOT WANT because scared girls are definitely not better than infatuated girls.

This pair has survived 2 motorcycle accidents; nose broken with glasses on one, without breaking in the last. Have been wearing this style for 10 tears & I love them. Still get compliments on their looks.

Weakness:

Lens scratch easily when they fall off my head, not while wearing but flipped up. I have been thru 5 or 6 sets which started off at $40 but now are...$ way more

I LOVE these glasses. I am currently on my 3rd pair (1st lost, 2nd stolen). I can ride at 80+mph without wind incursion into my eyes which says a lot to a motorcyclist. AND they look so frickin' kewl!!!
A bit pricey to purchase and maintain but well worth the $$ if you can afford them.

Let us be clear...we LOVE the styling of Oakely's Juliet x-metal sunglasses.

Weakness:

However, with all of Oakley's high-tech sounding material, one would think their lenses would be tough as nails. Ah... no, sorry, not so.

Now that we have used these Oakley Juliet for a while, here are some tips from our experience with the sunglasses:

- Always store them in the pouch when not in use
- Get a hard case if you want to carry them around in a backpack
- EXPECT to replace the lenses as they WILL get scratched
- Scan craigslist for the best prices

These Juliet X-Metal sunglasses have drool-worthy looks, but can be expensive to maintain.  So go into this "relationship" with eyes open :-)  Unless one carries $100 bills as pocket change, one would have to be mental to pay full prices for these sunglasses and/or lens replacements.  We purchased our Oakley Juliet X-Metal on Craigslist for pennies on the dollar.  Replacement lenses are available from a variety of sources (Sunglasses shops, Internet, etc...).  The least expensive we have found to date were on EBay.

Sincerely,

Look Great. awesome with Rx lenses. Build quality is top of the line. The metal frame feels like it will never break.

Weakness:

Frame isn't flexible. If one's head is too big, they pinch.
The price for prescription Juliet's is over $500. This is really pushing it, but you get what you pay for.

Great for everyday use. Very durable. Frame is one size and stays that way. Prescription price is over the top, but for regular sunglasses, more reasonable.

A very nicely designed and well crafted pair of sunglasses. They look slick and draw a lot of compliments. The glasses are solidly built, I am fond of this plasma line as they are near impossible to scratch, the frame is built near bullet proof. At first I thought these would be heavy sunglasses but was more than pleasantly surprised at how lightweight and comfortable they are. The design holds them firm, but not tight or uncomfortable on the head, these are one of the few sunglasses that I have owned that leaves no dents on my nose after I take them off. The ice polarized lense is far superior to many polarized lenses I have tried, and the hydrophobic lense coating works amazingly well at not only repelling sweat and water, but dust. The lightweight lenses are the perfect compliment to these durable frames.

Weakness:

I have read the reviews about how easy the lenses scratch and I was debating whether to purchase these glasses based on that information. However, I have owned these for six months, wear them extensively, and have not a single scratch. Use the microfiber bag to clean them after you rinse them off with water and you will have no problems. What's the big deal, how hard is that? Don't complain about scratches if you clean them with dust on the lenses and wipe them with your dirty sleeves. There are no weaknesses to these lenses except what the user imposes on them.

These are great glasses if they fit your style and needs. Try a pair on first before you make the purchase, and see if they are right for you. They work great for me.

Awesome Design, Very Strong/Durable, Price, options available.

Weakness:

Easy to scratch (lenses and some frame options), Oakley representatives.

Don't complain about price. At $50 (Ebay) to $400 retail for various Juliet models, the price is extremely fair for a pair of Titanium sunglasses. This is especially true when the new line of Oakley Sunglasses, the "Elite", will be priced from the low-end model around $500USD up to the top-end version at $4000+ USD (no joke).

Juliets come in various frame options: X-metal, Carbon, Plasma, Polished, Brown, TiO2, Titanium and have around two-dozen lens options available. It's true that Oakley lenses do scratch easily.. but this is because of the coating that is placed over-top of the lens to give each lens its distinct color. Rule of thumb, if you have a more vibrant lens color, it will be easier to see the imperfections from a distance. As for the frames, if you're worried about frames that scratch easily, stay away from the Brown, Polished, Carbon, Titanium/Plasma Generation 1's, and the X-metals (yes, X-metal is both a frame color choice and the family that the Juliets belong to). This pretty much leaves the Plasma and Titanium colors after the first Generation (which came out in 1998/1999) since they are more of a brushed color, not a matte color. The newer plasmas are virtually a brushed silver - which is attractive - but is the most over-produced color out there.

I've gone 11 years with 2 pairs of Juliets (I actually own over 20 now that I purchased over the last decade) and these things are durable. The only downside that many people with larger faces have is that the bridge can expand due to use, causing a "loose" feeling between the bridge and the connecting optical outlets. The other concern that many have is that the glasses have to be forced over the sides of the head instead of the arms of the glasses doing the labor. This is due to the lack of Springs in the X-metal line (with the Penny being the exception), but this "forcing" actually creates a better grip over the head, and I have yet to have a pair of juliets ever come close to falling off of my head.

Overall, the greatest glasses on the planet... and very versatile!

it is made of a super strong metal and fits great around the head. It is especially good for asians because asians have flat noses and it has good nose studs for flat noses

Weakness:

only weakness is that it hurts to slip it strait on the head, must put it on like a hat

i would recommend these glasses to anyone with alot of money. If you are poor forget it because it is only for well to do people. if you are poor go to the dollar store for some shades. These are expensive but well worth it

Form well to head well.

Weakness:

Lenses scratch easily. Cente Piece becomes loose and sloopy after 6 months on use, and the glasses become unusable because they just fall off your face!

Junk!!
Get the original Fives! Super light and tough, if you sit on them they just break way and you snap em back together!
