Strength:

Cheap

Weakness:

Crappy action, heavy

I bought these at a bike swap for $10 so no big loss. The action doesn't compare to higher end offerings, and the newer model 610 is probably far better. Upshifting is really slow (though I could stand to replace my cables/housing) and I'm starting to hate these. I have to upshift 2 gears then down 1 to get it to move. Hate that! Plus they're bulky and heavy. I can't wait to get rid of them for something better. Problem is, old xtr 3x9 stuff is selling at a premium now so what can you do? Sticking with 9 speed; I tend to wear stuff out fast and that little 10 speed chain just isn't going to cut it for me. Should have bought the xt's I saw for $25.
