Strength:

Solid interference fit, low stack, large bearings, deep set cups, nice cnc

Weakness:

requires a perfect steerer tube

Could not get this headset to work. Tried to fit the fork into the lower cups, pounded the phock out of it and no go. So i removed the bearing out of the lower cup and put it onto the crown race. Well the bearing went on so tight that the inner bearing race expanded enough to seize the bearing. Popped everything apart and the bearing spun freely. The tolerance on this headset is too tight, you either need a steerer reamer or get lucky to make this thing work.

Strength:

low profile

Weakness:

didn't stay loose - would always tighten up. not to the point where you couldn't move the bars - but i would loosen all the bolts - reset everything - and it I would ride it it would get tighter.

I feel bad having to give this product a bad review. I don't want to, but it just didn't work for me. Even after installing it twice. The install was not that complicated, though a bit different than most.

After installing, and pressing the cups in, then the bearings and the racer the headset just seemed to continue to get tighter every time I would ride. I would loosen the headcap/stem/fork - knock the thing loose a bit - it would feel find until the 1st jump/rock/drop - then it would continue to get tighter again.

i think the design is over complicated or just too easy to not get set up right. I got a King headset - installed - feels like butter. Simple and easy. Even FSA - install is simple, works like butter. This v-one just didn't work for me. And - it being a 100 headset - spend 30 more on a King or something else high end and be done w/ it.
