Strength:

~ Looks sweet
~ Works nearly forever(110-year warranty period)
~ Smooth, sealed bearings
~ Split compression upper ring is a winner
~ Made in Fletcher, North Carolina.....USA!

Weakness:

~ Prices are nearing Chris King

This is the undisputed winner, in premium MTB headests. Cane Creek's painstaking attention to quality simply cannot be argued. I've tried ALL the top-shelf, precision headsets out there. Cane Creek has really stepped-up their game. Their split compression ring technology for the upper headset cannot be exceeded. Chris King was even waiting for their patent to expire, so they could adopt it. Below is my current industry rankings, based on cost, durability/smooth daily operation and overall value:

1) Cane Creek
2) Hope Tech
3) Chris King
4) FSA
5) Crank Brothers

Strength:

Easy installation and self maintenance.

Weakness:

See summary.

I don't know if it was user error or what (shouldn't have been user error since I've installed many a headset...) but after 3 months of riding I developed a nasty click. I took the headset apart 3 or 4 times and serviced it but click stayed. I have now purchased a new headset (chris king)... no click. I'm sending the CC in for warranty. We'll see.
