Strength:

Comes with a slew of Shimano XT and XTR parts.
Great rubber connecting you to the trail with the Continental Race King 2.2 tires and DT Swiss wheels connecting the rubber to the bike.
Smooth shifting and braking.
Light weight (for aluminum)
Beautiful finish work.

Weakness:

Handlebars, grips, seat/seatpost all seem cheap. My seat developed small wear hole after only 2 rides.
It did not come with pedals (which is fine, but buyers should be aware) so I slapped some Wellgo C135's on it.
(I put new bars, grips and a saddle on my bike and couldn't be happier with it overall.)

The Focus Black Forest 3.0 is a great bike for Med-Fast XC racers and still holds it's own on semi technical all mountain riding. It is well balanced, covered in Shimano XT and XTR, and through many falls has yet to show any serious character flaws. The DT Swiss wheels keep rolling up the largest hills (in North Carolina) with the help of the 3x10 drivetrain, and the Continental Race King 2.2's allow you to scream through corners on dry days. The Fox Alps fork (hard to find any info on), in my opinion, is on the high end of low end front suspensions. It performs very well for being one of the low Front Suspensions on the Fox 32 totem pole.
I would suggest this bike to my friends, family, or anybody looking for a bike that performs better than you currently do. It pushes you to go bigger, faster and longer on the trails than you ever thought you could before.
