Scrub my last comments re: standover height, after putting in serious miles on the frame, I reckon a lower bb height would be spot on, ie 12.5" yeah yeah I know its designed for use on the shore etc... but whats half an inch.

A slightly longer headtube for the size I have (17" frame) would be great too as its spacer city with a Thomson X4 stem

Strength:

A beautifully constructed workhorse, very neat welds, shot peened finish, massive rear tyre clearance.

The ride: this feels bombproof, stiff, powerful, magical floated ride when riding gets hard n fast. Slack head-angle keeps weight back on the downs but still manages to steer quite sharp. No corrosion or paint chips to worry about.

Weakness:

Just some personal minor points;

Not really a weakness but I would like a bit more radical standover - drop the top tube by 1/2" and add 1" for the headtube, this would add more weld area for the top/down tube as they do sorta intersect weldwise.

Gusset, sure its pretty but last years looked more functional.

Would be nice to have replacable drop-outs with a direct postmount as standard.

Rear facing slot on seat-tube, not ideal for UK or even Canadian gloop!

Bottlemounts?

The ruler of all hardcore ti hardtails.

Strength:

Geometry, craftsmanship

Weakness:

None

With a 3" travel fork the Hummer has got to be the best cornering bike I've ever ridden and I've been riding mtbs for nearly 20 years. As I understand it, this is the only bike Cove doesn't build in house, although Cove does spec it out, but is actually built by Sandvik....and anyone who has ever seen a Ti bike built by Sandvik knows they are just perfection! Anyway, if you're in the market for a Ti hardtail and you are looking for performance and quality it will be very hard to beat the Hummer!!!
