Strength:

I can's compare to tomany other bikes but this thing is so plush and tacks to the ground amazingly, it is by far the best bike I have ever ridden and the most fun as well

Weakness:

the only thing I can say and is more of what you are used to than anything is that the wheel base feels very long so can take a few rides to get used to.

Bottom line is this thing lays the smack down to anything you throw at it, it is an amazing bike and will push you to your limits no matter what they are. My only comment about the parts is that I'm not a fan of the initial play in the forks as it feels sloppy but I love the fact that I have to do next to no maintenance on them and they always feel the same unlike what I have heard about the totems and Boxxers so they may not feel as good but they take way less time to use. Also I am not a fan of the Chunders, Minions are way better so do the upgrade if you can.

Strength:

Super stiff frame, flicks/scrubs/squash/whips wonderfully, does anything you ask it to with no complaints.

Weakness:

should have gotten a large. Odd seat post size?

This is for the frame only as I bought and built it to my liking.

I bought this bike frame only and built it up from there so mine is 100% custom build. I wanted it for racing and after hearing rave reviews I thought it would be worth a shot for this past season. Scored it for $650 for the frame with less than a season XC riding on it!
Slapped a 2005 888 RC up front, some Outlaws on it for cheap durability, Elixer R's for binders and a Shimano/Sram drive train for good luck. Over all I have to say this bike is fantastic. I have raced it at ten events this summer, its taken everything from 40mph whangs to the rear wheel and suspension on square edge rocks 'Mt Hood OR' to zipping through tight fast single tracks in the trees '257 Idaho' to big air hucks 'Exit 27 WA' and everything in between. The frame has been amazing, it turns on a dime for how slack I have it set at 'Cane Creek adjustable head set at 64 deg', tracks beautifully and is very easy to recover it things get hairy. Very pleased with the bike over all and am looking forward to purchasing another Demo frame for this coming race season. My only qualm would be that I should have snagged a large. I'm 6'3" and a med feels a little sketchy past eye watering speeds on rocky sections. But the smaller size more than makes up for itself in tight, quick maneuver sections on tracks.

The bike can carve corners super low and fast. Well balanced in the air. Vary easy to lay the bike out flat and do some nice moto whips. The bike can actually go up a hill if you need to. Not too heavy

Weakness:

Rear shock mount bushings are blown out only after a few rides. Common issue on many bikes. The front head set creeks after the head set bearing settle in. Front hub is week.

The bike will absolutly haul down a mountain. One of the best bikes that will handle any corner and terain, vary plush ride, and maintains perfect control in the air. If you wanna carve hard, this is the bike. Super low center of gravity

everything! is awesome on this bike!

Weakness:

Nothing except fast wear on the chunders

This is the best bike ive ridden and will ride ever! if you are thinking of getting this DO! specialized have crafted the worlds best bike. altough they really need to stop making crapy tires as they look exactly the same as maxxis tyres.it can handle anything you can throw a it like i did a 50ft step down and it handled it like it was only a 1 ft drop And to top it all off the bike looks AWESOME! wether you do freeride or downhill this bike will be perfect for your needs!

Strong frame. Great rear suspension design. Looks Awesome. Confidence booster. Like the specialized HUBS as well.

Weakness:

Pedals, tires. Liked the totem more on the 07 and 09

This bike feels awesome from the first time you sit on it in the shop. I have rode only twice and after figuring out the new geometry noticed instant improvement in my riding. I came from riding a single pivot stinky, and wonder why people would even consider spending any amount of money on one. The rear suspension feels so much more smooth when ripping down the hill. This is perfect whistler park bike, it hucks so well in the air but with that super slack(66 dgr) headtube you can point down any terrain and be in control. Even though this bike is not meant to climb up mountains, it does pedal better than the freeride bikes in the past I have tried. A combo between the propedal and rear suspension design. Lastly 40lbs aint to bad for a freeride bike.

The specs list is good(not amazing)
The Hubs were awesome. I noticed them right away when pedaling away from the shop. The DHX 4 is a nice upgrade from the van r i had before. Propedal is great.

Some problems right away.
Not in love with the RCV yet. I am coming from a totem and would much prefer to have that on instead but I should wait until it is broken in. The pedals kinda suck, I have slipped off a couple times now and scares the crap out of me. The tires arent great, they are the specialized custom ones. The dont seem to grip as well as my older maxxis minions 3C's. But all these cons are easy and cheap to fix.

All in all the bike is freakin awesome. I did my home work on this to make sure this was the bike I wanted. When you ride a bike of this quality you will feel it right away. I would recommend this bike to anyone.

hmmm... none but this
Stock bars are to narrow for this sort of bike

2008 Demo 7 One
I love this bike II was sure from the first ride what I noticed first was the suspension it is very plush and super sensitive to all impacts and yet it pedals surprisingly well. After the suspension I noticed the cornering ability. The low slung frame and low shock placement make for supreme berm railing it also rules on flat and off camber corners because the geo is spot on and drifts so predictably. Together the great geo, amazing suspension, and phenomenal cornering ability make for astonishing technical ability. This bike absolutely destroys the rough and gnarly rocks and roots. It also comes at about 40 pounds stock which is reasonable for this sort of machine.
8/10
