basically if you can ride you can do it on most anything. alot of people tried to talk me out of this bike, the whole breaking thing, blah blah. they call it the "porker" while it is a little heavy, its supposed to be. the bike rides great, feels light, great in the air as well. ive been racing aba cruiser on it and despite giving up 10lbs to a cruiser youd never know it. handles hits much better than i thought it would too. plus 350 f/shock @ jenson, if you cant do it on this bike dust off that road bike and borrow your girls pilates outfit.

great bike overall. Once tuned, the Parker II was able to take me places I couldn't go with my hardtail. After parting out my Kona, I was missing the rear suspension. A day of riding the hardtail would leave me in pain. Not anymore.

Weakness:

A bit of slack in the rear chainstay.
weak stock driveline parts, go with diabolus and SRAM.

Awesome bike for the money.
the warranty is great, I just hope I don't ever have to use it.

Strength:

the bike is light and manouverable. i never rode the complete but i did keep the brakes, headset, bars and seatpost. now with bomber 66 and lighter wheels i use it as a full time freeride bike. it is steady in the air, and handles rock gardens and technical dh trails surprisingly well for a 5 inch travel bike.the domain is fully ajustable frim 115-160 mm of travel which should suit both dj and freeride. the guys at jamis are really chill and their warrenty system is amazing. and you cant bet it for the price.

Weakness:

wheels are heavy but ridable. if your an abusive rider i would keep an eye on the shock.

i love this bike. i love the company. both for the good bikes and good prices and for their great customer service. i would reccomend it to anybody who wnts to do anything from all mountain to dh/fr and if you drop the fork to 115 it should be great for dj,4x, ds. i reccomend it both as a shop employee and as a daily rider

Light,Nimble,Strong, No flex, solid in the air, Has taken big hits and large gaps.

Weakness:

Paint chips very easy but if you actually ride hard who cares, Sr suntour derailer is junk took mine off and put on a chain guide, Cranks arent the toughest but put on Diabolous.

Straight bottom line is this bike has got bad press for snapping the dropout but im 220 pounds and do big drops and jumps, It has never let me down very light tight and right, Jamis has top notch customer service so if you had an issue they will deal with it. If you want a cheap do everything bike this is the best bang for the buck hands down. Ive ridden it on some of the toughest trails on the shore and its been burly, some guys are amazed and think its a hardtail and I just laugh..

Strength:

2:1 suspention ratio.
Feels more then a 4" frame more like a 6"er.
very strong frame. Gives you lots of confidence to go nuts with it.
Float R shock works great once adjusted properly.
Can get up 160mm forks.
I had about 6 bikes so far, and I never felt more at home, amazingly comfortable.
Very responsive handling.
Considering its a Park/DJ/4X/SS bike, its climbs very well.
Price.

Weakness:

the frame came loose in the back end (near the rear wheel) a few times, need to pay attention to it.
Also had a problem with the sleeve in the middle of the rocker, remade those parts by my self, works great now.

A great choice to those with low budget.

you can build it light or heavy depending on ur style, i think 140mm is the best for this frame, rode it on a 160mm and felt its a bit out of balance.

Would recommend it to about anyone who's fed up climbing with long travel bikes, like me.

Used to ride with my 8"er everywhere, now with the Parker I go faster and has less fatigue. Can have longer rides and more fun.

great for trails and jumps everywhere.

In a nut shell, very very recommended.

bang for your buck. VERY similar geometry to much more boutique-y brands like the transition bottlerocket or the sinister gruitr. for the price of either of their frames you can just about have this entire bike.

Weakness:

sr suntour front derailleur? come on jamis, toss a deore on there... don't be too cheap.

an amazing bike for the price. i'm not a dirt jumper or freerider or what have you, but this is a really good all-around trail bike. if you don't need crazy amounts of travel, you'll have fun on this bike. you have to hand it to jamis, they're really upping the ante this year.

Awesome all around bike that works for any riding possible, Fork can be dropped down for some serious dirt jumping, or maximized to race downhill, weighs only 36 pounds and feels like it too. All of the parts are top quality for the money put down, I am 200+ and the air shock is still perfect

Weakness:

Paint isn't the best thing out there, but still good. Frt derailer is a SR sun tour! But I took mine off. Some chain slap when dropping stairs

The sweetest bike for the money, and Jamis is awesome to deal with over the phone, It is a rider owned company, The first thing the guy said on the phone when I said that I had an 08' Parker II was, "Dude, how do you like it? I want to get one here soon!" He was way enthusiastic about what he helped build. I give my full recomendation to anyone who wants a medium travel enduro bike!
