Banshee Bikes Amp DJ/MtnX

DESCRIPTION

The Banshee Amp was designed to be a light, tight, and strong dirt jump bike. Banshee had their sponsored dirt jump riders test several version of the AMP to dial in the geometry. The Banshee Amp was designed to be a light, tight, and strong dirt jump bike. Banshee had their sponsored dirt jump riders test several variations of the frame and figured out the geometry. They kept the chainstays short and the front of the bike low by using an integrated headset, which makes the bike feel really flickable in the air, and is easy to throw into corners and pump through sections. Banshee used internally ribbed seat and chainstays to keep the frame stiff and predictable. By removing material where stresses were low, the frame stayed super light weight. The Banshee Amp has a high strength to weight ratio.

I can't say enough about this bike. I have never ridden such a light and agile bike. There were times where I was sure I was going to toast this frame, but it just keeps asking for more. WOW!

Weakness:

NONE! I can't think of one thing that is bad about this bike. I love the raw frame, make it what you want!

BUY ONE and you will rule the mountain!

From what i know this is the lightest frame you can buy i picked just the frame up for 400$ (New from shop) realy good deal i have ridden it for a few days now and it feels great i would highly recommend it!

Weakness:

The rear triangle has trouble fitting 2.35 tires and up mine barely squeeze in there (kenda small block 8s) wich kinda sucks, another thing is, is that the frame comes only in regular and long the should be a short medium and long cause i find the regular a bit small and the long to long! but i went with the regular! the last thing is lack of color but im not to picky about that kinda stuff i got the black and green mike Montgomery one!

top to lines sums it up heres a link to my amp http://www.pinkbike.com/photo/9659784/

Banshee amp, is so far the best thing I`ve ever ridden. Its one of the lightest frames on the market, looks sexy in raw a you can tell the difference when you step on it from other aluminium HT. Its incredibly stiff, geometry is aggressive and harder you ride it the better it seems to perform...

If you`re planning to build high end dirtjump/4x machine this should be your choice..

Great for Dirt jumps, very light and responsive.
Great for learning tricks like 360's and backflips, because of the weight and dimensions.

Weakness:

Steer Tube angle, Drop out system.

I would strongly recommend this frame to any dirt jumper looking for a "new era" jump frame. It is my favorite hard tail that I have ever owned, or ridden. Im sure you will think the same after shredding it!

Had to remove floodgate knob from my Pike, but that's just nitpicking

This bike has been more than just a DS/Pump bike for me. I've ridden it on all sorts of trails - pumptrack, steep/tech, 4+ hour XC rides. Great geometry and stiffness put this bike at the top of the heap. Ideally suited to gated racing/jumping, I've ridden this bike in and out of its element and its just plain fun - everywhere.

Soooooooooo light!!! At 4.4 pounds it's the lightest dirt jump frame I've heard of. It still feels really stiff and solid, so you can always get a good pump out of the dirt jumps. The integrated headset is a sweet feature that allows for a nice and low front end. The geometry feels really natural and stable with a low center of gravity and low bottom bracket. The raw finish is awesome too! It has horizontal drop-outs with a removable derailleur hanger for easy set up of both single speed and geared set-ups, plus ISCG-05 mounts for ease of chain-guide installation.

Weakness:

None

Hands down the best dirt jump frame I've had! Suchhh a fun bike! I can't get over how light it is, which helps with so many aspects of riding! From general flickablity to whipping around tailwhips and flips, the low weight makes it that much easier! Everything about the bike is ideal for tricking. The low toptube/seattube make no-foot-cans a breeze and the short wheelbase makes tailwhips and 360s effortless. The wheelbase is slightly longer than most cro-moly frames like my old NS Suburban, which makes such a difference in stability, as my old frame felt a bit awkward at times. The bike handles so well and feels so fast in berms and over rollers. It feels like it would be soooo fast for racing 4x and dual slalom. The frame is made out of aluminum, which makes it very stiff and rigid. This is great on jumps and over rollers where you can pump through as hard as you want. It also provides confidence when hitting a new set or big jump--knowing you're bike will handle it no problem. Overall an incredible frame! If you are looking for a solid yet lightweight hardtail, I would definitely recommend it! Awesome bike that can handle everything from the most technical pumptracks to the biggest dirt jumps!

Strength:

Lightweight, stiff and strong. Just a great jump bike that can take abuse and feels great.

Weakness:

Needs a bolt style rear axle, that is the only thing I ca fault it on.

I like everything about this bike from the looks to the ride. I've been more confident jumping on this bike than anything else, as it seems easy to throw around and point in. I'm sticking with the amp for my jump bike!
