Rides good around town. Hey can't beat the price. Bought the demo at Target on clearance for $34.95!

If you need a cheap bike to ride around town, this is a nice one.

Strength:

strong aluminum frame, stem, shimano part, promax brakes

Weakness:

vortex shocks, crank, tubes, shifters

This bike is great for the beginner, I wouldn't take this bike on some hard trails unless, you want to crash and burn. You must replace the cheap azz shocks, trust me they suck azzz. Ive replace them with some Rock Shox and the bike handles a lot better. You cant beat the price for a aluminum frame. Take the bike in for a tune up because the factory can't put it together right. Replace everything except the frame and should be able to keep up with the big boys, oh I almost forgot try to get rid of the decals unless you want to be laughed at.

Strength:

beautiful frame, price/value, shimano components

Weakness:

forks are lame - way too soft! / crank looks cheesy / you may get laughed at for not riding a $1000+ bike

This bike is great for the price. I took off most of the decals-not out of shame, just to show off the well made frame on this puppy! Big Pig rims do the job for city riding and light trails. I would recommend replacing the fork asap, and the crank if your budget allows. Don't be ashamed to ride a low priced bike! If the quality is there, then you know something the that the snobs don't - they probably wasted their money.

I purchased the Pacific Elite primarily for summer transportation. The reason I went with the Pacific was the price, but the difference is that for the $125(sale price) I spent I got an aluminum frame, shimano drivetrain, sachs grip shifts and shimano brakes. With that said, no one in their right mind would pass up on the incredible value of this bike. In todays market it is increasingly difficult to find front suspension for a lower price, let alone a complete bike.

Weakness:

Front suspension is lacking, but for the price you cant beat it

fantastic value, great bike!!

Strength:

Very nice frame, light and durable, good performance of the wheels, and driveterrain

Weakness:

Weak crankshaft, weak sprockets, fork is very soft and adjustible.

Very nice and strong bike. For the begginer it is perfect. A little bit on the heavy side though, but othervise performs good. True about the components, they are crap, not all of them, chain is stronger than my sprokets, since it bended the casset. Crank is very weak, no good at all. Great rims and tires, did not have any problems with those. NEED some upgrades, fork defenetly needs upgrade, cause it goes bottom out on my every ride. IT goes good with RockShox Judy fork, and some upgrades on the steering part. Climbing uphills excellent, since the Pacific Elite is a little bit oversized, longer than should be, thus more pressure on back wheel. The overall performance is great, since use it a lot, probably ridden over 2000 miles on it. Great on downhills, holds pretty good on all the intence rides, for "walmart" bike it is the best. Try it, you can go beyound the limit of what this bike can do, it does it great. Would recommend mostly to those who know the value of the aluminum frame and do not think cheap is bad, or just beginners, but not for those who thinks big $$$ is all that they need from the bike, beleive me,I have ridden those too, they are not that good either.

Sram Grip Shifter, Shimano Derailers front/rear, aluminum all around: frame, wheels, handlebar, stem, seat post, V-Brakes, etc.

Weakness:

Littly heavy.. but with some upgraades it will be a wonderful performer.. front suspension a little soft.

It is a quality bike for the price.. i have had no problems with anything on it.. except to readjust my derailers..

aluminum frame, V brakes, handles nice, smooth shifting,

Weakness:

The front shocks bottom out like crap be careful and no jumping if you buy this bike. The suspension is cheap crap!!
All I could find was full suspension, ride hard and it breaks man!! not so good going down stairs!!

This is a good bike for beginers don't ride hard and once you get the hang of it buy a new bike. Good for getting youst to mountain biking. A lite bike maby 11 lbs

This is where the previous person is wrong. This bike is thumb shifting, the lower shift for up, and the upper shift for down, vice versa.

Weakness:

The gearing is pretty smooth but is slow accelarating. The alluminum frame is nice but a little heavy climbing hills, believe it or not.

The bike comes with grippy tires, the seat is very comfortable, the climbing bars are very helpful in climbing short but steep hills. When you get on to the trail, it is smooth and glides over bumps and rocks on the trail. The suspension is a little soft, if you want a bike that will give you a better fell of the trail,I recommend looking at a GT or a Mongoose. The other guy was wrong.

I just borught a pacific Elite and it seems pretty cool. I like the look, color and the way it performs. I ride the bike usually on hills and steep roads but not cross country. The bike seems to perform good.

Weakness:

Nothing yet....

It is a good bike for the $145 I spend on the bike. I saw another bike Next for less than that but I think this bike is a little better.
