Well, I still have 1 of the original XT brake sets, the XT hubs, the KORE stem and the Judy XC Fork, Thats about it.

Weakness:

I dont think I have more than 2 of the original components that came on this bike. Everything has broke on it and it pisses me off. the frame broke twice this season.

This bike is too heavy to race with. It weighs a ton and the frame isn't worth its weight in BS It twists and bends all over the place . The components seem good at the start but there are a whole lot of chepo 4-Rox thingies like the cranks and the bar and the seat post which really suck and had to be changed. This is a good bike for a weekend warior who doent care about weight or great shifting performance.

This bike is awesome. For 1499$ you have a bike setup with XT, XTR and judy xc. Also it' s made in canada by the owners of rocky mountain, Procycle. Yes a Quebec firm owns rocky mountain. The weight of the bike is acceptable.

Nice components
Good value
Excellent handling

Weakness:

Not enough mud clearance
Tad heavy

My bike's a '98 model, which seems to be the best one out there. I went to the bike show recently and found out how crappy the components are on the newer bikes. Graham, I feel your pain on all the broken stuff. Oryx seems to have grown retarded and put a bunch of cheapie parts on it to keep the low price or something.

Let's see, the is amazing for tight singletrack, zips around corners with ease and hold nice lines. I found it's also great for urban assault riding, and have aired it off 8 foot drops onto flat ground with no damage. The only weak spots are the lack of mud clearance and the stock Judy XCs. I replaced those with Z.2's after I blew a couple damping cartridges in less than 3 months. Overall, great bike, but I don't reccomend getting the newer models UNLESS you want to shell out a bunch to upgrade the crap parts.

It keeps breaking, I've broken three parts on this thing. I'm getting sick of it. All I wan to do is ride, its been in the shop half the time I've owned. Yeah I'm bitching but I'm pissed

Yeah I wrote the previous review, but hell I didn't know that I was buying a bike that made with bad components. I gave it a five or something last time but I'll drop it to a one cause of my frustration with Oryx and the damn bike.

Ok, just a little update from my last review a couple months back. I recently crashed hard enough to write off my Judys...Sliders are fine, but the stanchions are bent, dented and cracked. Other than some scratches, the frame is still fine (yes I did have it checked out). Also got a chance to take it thru some really nasty mud, and found that the frame could use a little more mud clearance (its a '98 model, they fixed it this year). Other than that, the bike is still great, see 1st review for more details.Oh, and Oliver from Montreal, There IS a strict warning that putting a DH Triple Clamp fork on the bike will void the warranty (read the manual, or even the catalogue). And you wondered why you were breaking frames.

Wicked price (1295), for the components

Weakness:

A little heavy, but so am I.

I shopped around quite a bit for this bike, no other bike came even close to this bike for value.

Strong, well made bike, I've crashed this bike lots of times with no damage. Amazing handling on tight singletrack. Great price for an XT bike.

Weakness:

A pound or 2 too heavy for XC racing
Came with semi-slick tires

My riding is actually a lot closer to freeriding than cross country. The trails I ride are mostly twisty, narrow, tree root and rock infested cliff edge singletrack with short super steep downhill sections. Great handling on this bike, can be threaded thru trees and singletrack with ease, while remaining stable at high speeds. Yeah, the bike's a bit heavy, but 1)It's steel, and 2)It only costs $1499.

Weakness:

could be lighter(around 24-25 lbs) cause by the DBS(direct brazing system) but it is stronger

Awesome handling and uphill riding due to the agressive geometry
FOR 1500$(canadian) it' s a great bike
also very good for trials with flat pedals on it
I have ride about one month and I am very happy about it.

Strength:

Great price ($1499), excellent component group compared to the price. Very good handling on downhills and climbs surprisingly well. Almost everything about it seems really high quality and ready for hard use.

Weakness:

Only one for now, but it's no biggy...with the setup that the factory sends them out as I think there's too much clearance and space in between the top of the front wheel and handle bar. However, to fit this minute problem just invert the stem, and you should find that it handles much better.

Super bike for the price and an exceptional bargain for any type of rider.
