Strength:

Great suspension performance, exceptional carbon frame build quality, amazing geometry -keeps the rider in an ideal position during climbs and tricky maneuvers. Different geometry depending on size really helps.

Weakness:

Not really a weakness, but Spot is not a well known brand, so it requires explanation to other riders. But, I like to talk.

Wow. As a tall rider, when riding bikes with "old school" geometry, I always had trouble with climbs and tricky trail sections like a rocky switchback. Doing wheelies up the hill saps energy and riding the nose of the saddle is not pleasant. With the Spot, none of that happens. You just settle in and peddle. And whosh, away you go, in complete control. I have been waiting for a cool 29er with these attributes.
Beautiful build quality. I ordered just the frame and took the parts off the bike I built new last year. I wanted to love the old bike, but damn that old geometry kept me from nirvana. Enter the red XL Spot Mayhem. I have a xx1 drivetrain, xtr brakes, carbon race face crankset, sram dropper with fizic saddle. For now, borrowing a fox 34, but have a Pike plus coming. Also borrowing a spline wheel set until my new Hope hubs get laced onto my 35 wide carbon rims.
