Strength:

Solid metal housing, strong connection link, battery lasts longer than stated (unlike other brands which exaggerate the battery life), decent beam size with spotlight centre

Weakness:

as expected, the metal housing gets a bit hot on 'hi' beam, so expect warm fingertips as you fish around for the button which is on the back of the light. A bit expensive, but better than many of the other lights at the same price point

I ride the same forest DH/FR trails in the winter as I do in the summer, so regular lights for street/path riding don't cut it. The Hope 2 is well built, strong, bright and lasts several hours even on high beam. The 480 lumens is more than bright enough when riding in the trees, as it's the trees that limit your long range visibility - any brighter would be useless unless you're in wide open terrain. I use this light on my helmet, with the battery in my backpack. The only downside is you really need a light on the bars too for full visibility on fast single track. 4 Chilis just because a 'two-pack' would be better!
