It loops on the rails of your seat and also velcros to the underside of the bag. Giving it extra stability. I have had a few of these bags now trying to find one that works well and has good durability. this is the first. Arkel (too complex and no room), Lezyne ( pure crap), one other can't remember now on my neglected road bike and this one. Pure gold. Get it. There is room enough inside for a tube, tire lever patch kit, and more. Love the external zip pocket.
