The place is awesome. Bought a bike for my wife last night. This is a shop you must visit. Yeah, it's pretty much full on Specialized shop and that's not a bad thing at all. I've had an M2 for 16 years and 20,000 miles. No problems ever. Had two other "T" bikes got less than 1000 miles before they had to be replaced. Anyway, this shop has EVERYTHING as far as I'm concerned. They have a bike fitting area. They have a body geometry area! They can custom fit you to a bike. How many other bike shops offer that? How many would want to do that? They have an indoor training area with a computertrainer program. They'll ever store your bike so you don't have to bring it back and forth from home. This is how all bike shops should be.

Customer Service

The services they offer are amazing. As far as the other not so favorable comments, I didn't get that. I worked in bike shops for about 10 years and things like that do happen. And I do my own quality work at home, so I don't know if I'll ever bring it in. I adjusted my new derailleur's once, 2000 miles ago and haven't touched them since. Someone came up to ask if we needed help at the right momment. All I can say is I'll go back cuz it's a cool shop. They guy I talked to knew his stuff. Was nice. And I could tell he was a mechanic. Not a sales guy, which I like.

They have a wide range of bikes on hand. Really wide. It's nice to go to a shop and not hear,"We can order one for you".

Spent 1300 bucks for a Crossroads Pro a couple of years ago. Apparently this is low scale stock for these folks as they act annoyed at me bringing this "Cheap Bike" in for maintainance, WTF

2 out of 5 stars
by Hospital employee

I am an avid cyclist and work at the hospital up the block from Crank Daddy's. I usually buy my cycling gear at Corey The Bike Fixer on Murray, but it was my lunchbreak and I wanted to check Crank Daddy's out. #1) Crank Daddy's has high markups. If you do all your weekly grocery shopping at Whole Foods, and spend $6.99 on a pint of organic blueberries this is the place for you! $$$ #2)I wanted to purchase a new waterbottle cage so I asked the girl working there if I could compare it to my fixie sitting in the rack outside. She told me to bring my bike in, rolled her eyes when I didn't want to, and followed me like I was going to run off with the thing. Keep in mind I was in Hospital Scrubs and my name was both on the badge and stitched into my scrubs! Not to mention I am twice the clerks age. WTF!?!? Never again, maybe in Fox Point this place would fit in. Not on the Eastside. Never will I cheat on Corey's again!! The best thing this place has going is the parking lot is nice considering it is on the Eastside.

Great location on the east side and beautiful shop!

Customer Service

In terms of knowledge-base, it can be hit or miss. As another rewiew mentioned, they are very road-oriented overall. Great selection of Specialized bikes with some high-end s-works offerings as well. Expect to pay retail though - Specialized bikes from two years ago are still priced at full retail. Was very impressed with a guy named 'Mike' I believe - knew tons about the new offerings and fielded questions well.

I would NOT go here for work on my bike. Had a brake issue last ride in October 2008, and they tried to charge me for a bunch of items that I told them to call me and authorize first (I was traveling for work at the time). They exceeded their quote for the rear brake by almost double, and the work they did over a WEEK'S time still didnt have the issue resolved. To this day, my rear brake is still not even close to dialed...

I bought my bike from Ben's Cylce and Fitness and they always hook up service for free on small odds and ends - Ben's rocks!

Nice I guess - except for the owner and maintenance guys.

Customer Service

Horrendous! Some of the worst customer service I've experienced in Milwuakee. And that's pretty poor.

I was happy with the service I got the first time after I got over the fact they made me feel incompetent. I didn't stick around the second time after being treated in the same manner.

Decent shop with pretty good selection of mostly Specialized, Marin, and Orbea MTB's, and a whole slew of road bikes. Everyone there Ive run into has been helpful and the service dept has been more than willing to do repairs while I wait. I don't think I would call these guys a great "mountain bike" shop but they make up for it with very good customer service. There are times when Ive gone in to drop my bike off for a tune (no appt), have a fork steerer cut, and star nut installed but was told every time that they would have it done while I waited.
I would not hesitate to recommend these guys for service work even though it seems they are more road bike oriented than off-road - which is somewhat expected given their location on the East side of Milwaukee. However, when you're selling $7k S-works bikes, I would think that you'd have a pretty decent grasp on the off-road side of things as well.
