Strength:
Great customer service. No pressure in buying and will answer questions when asked. The staff is very knowledgeable. Their techs are the best around. They now stock Specialized, Giant, Yeti and Pivot Mountain Bikes. All bikes purchased at their shop come with lifetime adjustments and light services/tune ups. You can buy helmets, some clothing and bike parts there. They also take in trade ins and sell used bikes. Weakness:
The inventory is light in the winter but get better during the riding season. Their stock is now better that they brought in new brands. And if they don’t have the bike you are looking for, they can order it. |

A1 in Herndon has been around for several years now. It's good to see a bike shop stick around when many have come and gone. The sales guys are cool and have a pressure free atmosphere. Inventory is very low, they don't stock much as the shop is fairly small. They sell Specialized, Flint, and Redline though I've never seen one in stock. Their service side is decent but a recent incident has me questioning their workmanship and attitude. Customer Service They greet you when you walk in and will spend time with you and answer your questions. Some know more than others but they don't spill B.S. if they don't know the answer. If you buy a bike from them, you'll get lifetime free adjustments.
Similar Products Used: Just double check their work before you leave the parking lot. Usually a pretty decent shop though. I'd rate this place a 3.5. |

Excellent shop. All sorts of stuff in stock. All the small parts you need. Colin who works at the Herdon branch does excellent wheel builds. Customer Service A+ no complaints. Usually have the things I need in stock. If not they can be ordered. |

Originally bought a bike from another bike shop, but returned it soon after visiting A-1. I had called to see if they had any closeout bikes, and was helped on the phone by Rob. Rob was more than happy to spend a couple minutes with me and tell me exactly what they had. I went in that evening to see the bikes we had talked about. I was then assisted by Devlin. I would reccomend him to anyone who is looking to buy, or simply needs help. He can answer any questions with confidence. He is a rider and racer himself. I ended up purchasing their "demo" Specialized Enduro Expert for a very, very attractive price. Not only did he help adjust all the mechanics on the bike, he even helped me install a car rack and mount the bike. I even received a phone call a few days after stating they had found extra parts and manuals for the bike. I am more than satisfied with A-1. I even purchased my fiance a bike from there. Did I mention, that if you purchase two bikes, you get 10% off accessories purchased at the same time? They also throw in life time tune ups on the house on all their bikes. I could not find a better deal in the area. Keep it up A-1!!! |

This shop is in herndon on my way to work. I went in there the other day, cash in hand, basically ready to purchase a new bike. I casually walked around looking at the different models that they had in the store (not much) and when nobody acknowledged me I took another lap. I started checking out some specific bikes and price tags, and still nothing, so I decided to leave. If they had sold me on a bike I would have bought it, but even that is too much to ask from this shop Customer Service Sucks! |
