Decent selection of mountain bikes, road bikes, and hybrid/commuters. The shop is laid out very well and the employees are extremely helpful. For a shop in such a small town, they stock a surprisingly large amount of items and anything they do not stock, they can order and have at the shop in a matter of a few days. Customer Service Customer Service has been superior to other shops that I have visited. After your first couple of visits, the owner and his employees generally remember your name and what you ride. The owner is very involved in the local cycling community and hosts a weekly shop ride that he encourages everyone, regardless of skill level, to attend. Similar Products Used: The shop mechanics are spot on and have always taken care of my bikes in a timely manner. The shop even has bar stools near the service area so that you can sit and watch the mechanics and chit chat if you are so inclined. |

This is one of two bike shops in town. I visited both recently as I was looking to get back into mountain biking after 10 years away from riding. This shop carried the brand of bike I had ridden in the past and was really looking to buy again. The staff was apathetic enough that I headed back down the road to the other shop (where they had been quite friendly and helpful, although they didn't carry the type of bike I set out looking for) and opted to buy a different brand of bike that I was unfamilar with. I was quite pleased with the help and service at the other shop. If these kids at Blackwater had acted even remotely interested in answering my questions and talking to me for a little while, I would have probably bought from them, since I had a history of riding that brand of bike. As it stands now, I bought my bike from the other shop, and have since bought a bike for my wife from the other shop as well. Counting the money I've spent on two bikes, plus plenty of accessories, as well as the fact that I have two young kids who will need bikes soon, this shop lost a lot of potential business when I left. Customer Service To be fair, I was only in there once. Maybe they were having a bad day, and maybe they are typically much better with their customers. (It can't be written off to a busy day, however, because I was the only customer in the shop that day.) Regardless of why my experience was bad, that was all it took to send me looking elsewhere. I would also add, again in fairness, that these guys may really know their stuff about mountain bikes - I just didn't get to find out, because they didn't want to be bothered with talking to me. |

Awesome shop with good, competent people working there. Highly recommended over the morons at bikes unlimited. |

There is no better shop in the area. Blackwater Bike Shop is professionally run, yet casual and comfortable. I highly recommend this shop. Customer Service You could not ask for better service or more informed employees. |

Just got back from the bike shop. I ended up buying a bike for my wife when I picked up my bike they ordered for me. I feel it is worth the extra drive. Customer Service So far so good, but time will tell. |

Great prices and service. I highly recommend them if you are in the market. I just hate to take my business out of town to get a smoking price. |
