I go to the Woodstock, PDX Bike Gallery. Over the past 6-8 years I've bought multiple $4K+ MTBs, kids' bikes, wife's bike, Burley trailers, etc. and have a consistently positive experience. Particular kudos to Matt - excellent technician, great person to do a fitting for a bike, and solid customer service instincts. Customer Service They've handled warranty repairs and returns. They've also work with the Trek rep for me to get a custom bike set up (swapped out Shimano XT for SRAM XO drivetrain, shifters, etc. on my new bike) and worked through the numerous details to get the bike completely dialed-in. |

I am not sure in this department, I was just shopping. Customer Service . I saw online that the store in Portland was larger so i decided to check it out. When I went in I told the kid that I was looking to spend around $600.00 he kinda rolled his eyes and did a complete 180 and mumbled something about " I would need around $800.00 to get into anything". I have never been blown off by any business/Salesperson like that before, made me feel like a complete dirtball!! I would have spent $1000 easy if thats what it would have taken, but to be treated like that, no way!

I principally use Bike Gallery downtown since I commute to downtown, so I use them as my service place for my commuter - and therefore my XC bike and my road bike.
Customer Service An often used phrase, but they really do look after the customer. Similar Products Used: Complete contrast to River City Bicycles who appear to look down their nose at anyone who doesn't ride a $10,000 carbon fiber racing bike.... |

The best local chain in Portland. They carry a good selection of road, mountain and cruiser bikes (as well as a selection for younger children). While they may stick to the MSRP of items, they never have tried to sell me something that I didn't want or need. Customer Service They can be hit or miss on customer service. Usually you're greeted upon entering the store and asked if you need help, but not always especially if they're busy. They are very helpful in finding what you need or want. During a upgrade of my mountain bike they ordered the wheel I wanted for no extra charge as they didn't have exactly what I wanted in stock.
Similar Products Used: The Bike Gallery used to be a Trek oriented shop (Trek, Gary Fisher, Lemond, and Klein). Recently I noticed them carrying other brands like Mountain Cycle and Rocky Mountain. This year they Added Kona. |

I only use Hollywood store but they have always treated me right. Pete one of the mechanics there really seems to know his stuff. Only complaint I have is that the prices are a bit high but everyones gotta make a buck right? |

6 locations in the Portland area, The Bike Gallery has been around for over 30 years. The primary local dealer for Trek, Gary Fisher, Klein, LeMond and Orbea, among others. Stores are smaller and have less selection than River City Bicycles, but they make up for this with superior service and more locations. Customer Service Simply awesome. These guys know their stuff. They know what works, what doesn't and how to fix it better than anyone else in town. If you come in with a problem, they will take care of you and they will solve it. I've gotten a lot of advice at BG (especially at the service department) and they have never steered me wrong.
