I agree with the last post. This shop is unorganized and has a staff that is not willing to help. On two occasions I walked out because I was just sitting around not being helped. |

The shop is unbelievable. They have 2 stories full of bikes, clothes, and accessories. They're always bringing in new inventory, which is obvious since they always have boxes everywhere. I was actually a bit turned off by this, but you can't blame a shop for having too much stuff. Customer Service Second to none. I didn't see any of the jerks mentioned in the previous reviews. Everyone there seemed like they got along with each other and customers very well. The service manager was full of knowledge and answered all of my technical questions. He'll give you a history lesson on any bike you can name. I bought a pump from a really helpful yet odd character named Mike. Despite his grungy appearance he was a very smart, well spoken, and a great salesman. Similar Products Used: Bottom line: Don't judge a book by it's cover, these guys are professionals. They were nothing but helpful. The only reason why they're getting 4/5 is because their store wasn't very neat. |

They should not even be in business. Horrible, horrible customer service. You feel like you're in "sleezy Sammy's used car lot".
Customer Service Bar none the worst out there. Everybody I meet on the trail always says the same thing, "Stay away from Frenchies" and they seem to always have a similiar story to the ones posted here on MTBR. Similar Products Used: Two years ago they tried to sell me a 2004 Horse Hollowpoint Expert. It was a left over from the previous year. The bike had great reviews and was retailing at a variety of on-line retailers for $1,400-$1,800. Frenchies wanted $2,500.00 and would not budge on the price; even though they have a huge banner in the store saying they will not be undersold!! They told me that their bikes "Are assembled by pros for pros,,,,We do it better than anyone else". And, before I forget, the bike had a huge scratch/chip in the paint on the down tube near the crank assembly. I guess the "Pros" wrapped it with a wrench putting the crank on! Beware of a guy they call "The Polack" he's Ukrainian or Polish or something and he claims that he's a leader from the race team for Marin bikes. I think he's full of it. He gets real nasty if you don't agree with what he believes is the best bike "for you" Of course it's usually a Marin or Yeti and of course the most expensive $$$$$.

Over-priced. The bike that I wished to purchase was about $600 more expensive that it was in a store in Manhattan! I alerted the price disparity to the store clerk who thought that I was lying. They also did not discount previous year's model bikes.

Local bike shop in Huntington Station, selling all types of bikes. Customer Service Be very cautious when shopping here. I heard good things about the people that worked there so I went in, spent some time discussing what I was looking for and what I needed in a bike and what I ended up buying was nothing like what I needed. I needed a reliable, rugged, comfortable bike for commuting and they sold me a Marin that was a complete piece of garbage. I've had nothing but problems with the bike since I bought it, cables loosening spontaneously, frequent flat tires with normal wear, shifting problems that they seem unable to fix. I realized that they mounted a front derailler for a 3 gear bike but my bike only has 2 gears. They insisted that it should work fine, but it hasn't. The rear derailler also constantly misses gears, although I've had them adjust it several times. Similar Products Used: Bottom line, be very careful shopping here, they'll tell you anything to sell you a bike and then you're stuck with it. They dont stand behind anything they sell ! I would recommend looking at bikes there, but buying somewhere else. I've owned almost a dozen bikes and never had as many problems with a "new" bike. I've also never worked with a shop that cares less about the products they sell. Their attitude is basically "once we have your money, the bike is your problem, if the bike isn't what we say it was, tough luck" I dont know how much better the service is at other shops in the area, but it cant be any worse than this place |
