At age 58, I am a pretty low-keyed and slow town-cruiser. These guys fit me with the perfect bike. Follow-up service has always been excellent.

My experiences with Cottonwood have only been positive. I am new to singletrack cycling and the guys at Cottonwood are helpful, supportive and very informative. I have made several purchases from this shop including bicycles and will continue to claim Cottonwood cycles as my bike shop when in northwestern New Mexico.

Customer Service

As good as it gets.

Unfortunately, this shop falls into the stereotypical racist establishment in Farmington. I went to take my son's bike for a quote, and the gentleman behind the counter was very rude. My fellow Navajos, please take your business elsewhere. I recommend Kokopelli's bike shop in Cortez. It's far, but I'd rather be treated like a human being, and with respect.

The shop itself is a really nice place. It is clean and well laid out with a great selection and knowledgeable staff.

Customer Service

Unfortunately, I have nothing good to say at this point. The shop has a policy of selling your bike after thirty days if it is not picked up. I was hospitalized and was unable to pick up the bikes (mine and my sons which I had bought from this store). The store claimed to have called me several times however, the only call I received was the one where I thanked them for reminding me and the one where I told them I was incapacitated. They said they understood and not to worry. I guess that was because they were going to sell my bikes. In the end the store made allot of money off of me and the attitude was "too bad". I will never forget this and I am sure it will be made known to any and all who ask.

I want it known that it is my understanding that this decision was not made by the owner but by the shop manager. I actually know the owner and find him to be a very personable and honorable man. It is a shame that some of his elitist staff feels that novice cyclists do not deserve the same consideration as their more learned client base.

My wife and I bought a Fisher mtn. bike for her recently and went out for her second ride ever. Needed shifting adjustment so went back because we were told that they would tune for 90 days beyond the sale.
Took the bike in, was told it would take three days to turn a couple of screws and check the chain. Dude moaned, wined, said they had lots of bikes to work on and could not get to it. I said, well hey we would like to ride before friday--so dude took the bike back for 15 seconds and then came out saying "shifts fine." Most likely I will be doing the tuning, and fo sho will be going to Dgo. or Cortez from now on...should have known better. Was thinking about buying our kids two new bikes there but nope.

Customer Service

What kind of shop can't take 5-10 minutes to make a bike purchased at their shop right, especially for a new rider?

My wife, an absolutely total novice, bought an entry level Gary Fisher mountain bike (like $400) at Cottonwood. On the first run and within the first 100 yards on a basic gravel road, the chain pops off and in the process the frame somehow cracks where it connects at the rear wheel (was the bike assembled properly to begin with?). She took the bike back to Cottonwood to see what could be done and the manager (???) actually was such a dick and so unhelpful he made her cry. Anyhow, Gary Fisher did eventually stand behind their product and made it right but these guys at Cottonwood had the audacity to charge her on top of everything to reassemble the parts on the new frame. In my opinion, they're low class.

Customer Service

Horrendous.

Perhaps these guys are fine for the extreme riders; however, they're terrible for regular folks, don't stand behind their work/products and were beyond rude to my wife.

Great selection of bikes and gear. Really good repair shop with guys who know what they're doing.

Customer Service

Top-notch, extra-mile treatment from Ralph, Mike, Brandy, Matt. Free 90 days maint when you buy a new bike. Anything you need to know about riding from trails to upkeep, just ask.

Cottonwood has become a favorite hang-out for me. Ralph has become a good friend and a real help in getting into mountain biking. Mike is a consumate wrench man and an awesome rider. Don't know many LBS mechs who will invite a beginner to go ride with them and offer pointers. Brandy is an angel always ready to help. You'll get expert advice, a great selection of bikes, accessories, local and area trail information and maybe even make some really good friends.
