Strength:

Best service, trustworthy, quality work, fair prices, excellent products. I won't go anywhere else in ABQ. Lots of staff -- they employ a lot of people -- yet another reason to support.

Weakness:

None that I can think of.

This shop has gone from one of the best in Albuquerque to one of the worst. I am not alone in my opinion. I have several friends that have refused to go there for service. I have been holding out hope. But after my last visit for service it makes it a perfectly clear that they don't care. Three of my last 3 experiences that have been terrible. There are several great people that work there. But overall they are arrogant and don't seem to give a crap about service. My last visit is much like the two before... my bike took longer to repair than they said it would. Then when I finally did get it back it wasn't right and I had to go back a second time. On my last visit they replaced a pivot bolt with something that doesn't fit properly. There was nothing wrong with the bolt but apparently they had to remove it to get to a shock bushing. I don't know if they lost it or damaged it when taking it out but they did not put it back together properly. Nor did they tell me about the issue until I discovered it on my own. When I went back to discuss the issue it was clear that they had no interest in trying to help me. I know several other riders who feel the same about this place. STAY AWAY IF YOU WANT ANY SERVICE AFTER THE SALE!

Customer Service

The absolute WORST! You'd be better off doing it your self... at least that way you won't screw yourself intentionally.

I feel sorry for the bike manufactures that they rep.

I used to love this place... locally owned and operated and full of folks that ride and take pride in their work. What the heck happened? It has gone from a place you can trust to a place that will cause you nothing but head aches.

Besides my issues I have watched several friends spend thousands of dollars there only to get crappy service.

I was visiting ABQ for a weekend of riding on the Sandia Mtn trails and had some problems with my tires. I didn't have what I needed to set up my tires tubeless at the trailhead (shame on me for not being prepared in cactus and goathead country).

I called the shop on Sunday @ 12 when they opened,; showed up at 1230. They trued both my wheels and set my tires up tubeless within 90mins while I looked at all the amazing bikes and parts they had in stock. I was able to get back on the trail by 1430 and ride another 20 miles before sunset. I think I would have lost a full day of awesome trails were it not for these guys.

Customer Service

Outstanding! While I was waiting for my wheels (drooling over the Moots frames), I had the chance to see how they interacted with their different customers and was really impressed. They seemed very patient (listened), knowledgeable, and in no way condescending to the beginner rider that hasn't a clue yet.

I will be returning to ABQ for more riding and will definitely be visiting this shop again.

Great Shop, help me find a Great bike Cervelo RS I have put over 1800 miles on it in July and Aug. Did a great job with the bike fit, no sore knees or back on century rides.

Customer Service

This was the best Service I've ever gotten in 25 years of biking. They help me up grade to new equipment shoes, pedals & bike shorts. Saved many dollars by buying at Fat Tire.

Pretty good shop. All they carry are boutique bikes which are cool to look at but way out of my price range. I typically buy parts here. They have everything, usually. You need that little 2.5mm screw for your Suntour brake handles. They probably have something that will work. Any they'll might just give it to you for free.

Customer Service

Overall good service. I once had an issue with a chain I bought. It broke 3 times in a matter of 2 weeks. They wouldn't give me a full refund when returning it. This one instance still leaves a sour taste in my mouth but all the other good experiences I've had keep me coming back.

i went to fat tire bike shop because i broke an axle that i really needed. i was told they had a good bmx selection witch they do but did not have the axle i needed witch was fine but when i asked them if they could order it they said they could and the order would be shipped out that same day. a week rolls by and i call back to find out if my axle has arrived and to my surprise the order was never even placed and was told by one of the employees he would try and order the part that day. im very disapointed i wasnt given better service or even told that the order wasnt placed and there would be a delay on the arrival or even order of my part. if fat tire doesnt value the bmx customer i dont know y they wouldnt have just directed me to another shop. this wil be the first and last visit to this shop for me

Has to be one of the best bike shops in town for sales, parts, and service. Great selection of bikes, gear, and accessories. No egos here folks......just a bunch of guys who love bikes and it shows.

Customer Service

They treat you the way they would want to be treated. They are the opposite of pushy or presumptuous. They will let you wander around the store as long as you like. Ask a question and they give you an honest answer.

My friend told me not to go to Fat Tire Cycles, because of negative comments that he had read online. They are WAY WRONG! I took my bike in for a repair. I thought I might have to replace an expensive part. Jesse worked out a kink in my chain, inspected my bike, rode my bike, aired it up, and charged me not a cent! That's good service, and that's why I'll take my time to write a good review for a good company with great employees.

Ibis should jerk their ability to sell anything.

Customer Service

the worst service in Albuquerque. Pathetic-you're lucky if they tell you the truth one time in 5 concerning when a bike will be ready.

It is a nice shop located in Albuquerque, where no one knows what they are doing. I am amazed they have managed to stay in business this long.

Customer Service

Very poor. They did not fit my girlfriend's bicycle correctly. Her 100 dollar bike fit included little more than a seat adjustment, which they did not do properly.

When we had them prep one of our bike frames they didn't face the bottom bracket area. They also didn't check for manufacture defects. Hence, they did nothing but charge us money. On top of this they installed the chain wrong and the pin got caught in the front chain ring, sending me over my bars.

Overall, you get a feeling, going in, like you are going to a nice local shop where they really care. You end up leaving the shop with the feeling like none of them know what they are doing and really don't care either.

best shop in albuquerque. i previously worked as a mech @ one of the competing multi-location shops. the guys at fat tire know their stuff. the mechs are awesome and experienced with high end bikes. they work on and build $4k+ bikes often and understand what goes into a quality build. the lines they carry are awesome. you can get the best in suspension, titanium, steel, fixie, or carbon road. (niner, moots, ellsworth, ibis, pivot, jamis, felt, colnago, look, time, bmc, cinelli, ect.)

Customer Service

stevie and the guys take care of everyone who comes in. it is a bike shop, and if you have thin skin or are super sensitive than get over it and quit taking yourself so seriously. these guys will help you out, just be prepared to joke around with them. that is the way shops should be anyway. if you want someone to suck up to you, stick to shopping at sacs fifth avenue. if you want someone with experience to guide you and answer your questions, come to fat tire.
