By far the best shop in NJ. I agree with one reviewer:where are these negatives coming from?!!! I LOVE to shop, and I love to drive. I've been to the top rated shops on thus sire and they don't hold a candle ti this shop. The most important factor for me is how much time a shop will spend to measure me for an appropriate fit. I got a great bike a year ago from another shop and turns out the fit wasn't right. I made the mistake choosing the other shop over High Gear so when I purchased my current bike, I made sure to go here. They only sell high qualify bikes. Even for the lower end bikes they usually start selling at the second or third least expensive option because the components are better.
Customer Service Sometimes takes time to get te service but when you get it, it's the best!

it's a really good shop. i've bought 2 bikes there so far and am really hesitant to buy a bike from anywhere else in the future. their mountain bike selection is limited but you can probably still find something to make you happy, they have a ton of cannondales, trek, gary fisher, and a few more names but i've never seen specialized, iron horse, or other big brands there (not saying they can't get it, i don't know). their demographic is older (40s i'd say) so it's probably more beneficial for them to steer more towards road bikes, which they have an incredible selection of.
Customer Service the staff knows their product very well and are all very passionate about biking. some are a little "high and mighty" but who cares, i'm not there to make friends, i'm there to buy a bike from someone competent. they very willing and don't push you to buy anything as well. i did have one negative experience, though i blame myself for taking advice from a high school kid who was working there, not a good idea i found. everything else has been positive. |

High end bike shop that sells the 'big name bikes. Customer Service Horrible!! They are snobs like most of the road biking community. If your not riding a $3000 bike, you are frowned upon. It's obvious they cater to certain people. To me they are wanna-bee's. Non of the staff seem to be actual riders. Similar Products Used: Their prices are ridiculous. You can get so much more for your money if you look at other brands such as Jamis or Fuji, or just going to another bike shop. |

Use to be a great shop but they don't even want to consider mountain biking any more. Last time I was in asking about a Trek Remedy they said they don't carry alot of mountain bikes any more because there is no where to ride around here. You have got to be kidding me. Some of the staff are excellent others won't give you the time of day Similar Products Used: Need to refocus on what made them a really good shop in the past. Mountain biking is not dead! |

These guys love bicycles! I am surprised by the negative reviews on this site. I wonder if the reviewers are from other shops in the area. Customer Service Each time I have visited this shop over the past several years, I have received personalized attention whether I was buying a bike, a bike rack or a pair of biking gloves. I was fitted for my bike and was shown how to make adjustments. I have had it tuned there for free each year as it is part of their lifetime warranty. They assisted me in my roof rack purchase as well. They helped make sure I had all the correct hardware (towers, bars, locks, racks) and made sure it was installed properly on my car. I no longer live in NJ but make a point to stop in when I am in the area. |

The shop was great. As a new rider I found it very overwhelming at first, but once I started to talk to Craig, things became much easier to figure out with his guidance. They had all the things I needed to get started. Customer Service Craig was the best. I didn't feeling like he was pressuring me. It felt like I was truly helping me find the things I needed. Similar Products Used: I would recommend this shop to any one. The weekends are busy, if you can go during the week it's much more relaxing. |

Overall shop has very nice selection of bicycles and accesories. I purchased a Trek Fuel EX6 from this shop and am very happy, after they took out the kinks. The rims were not trued and the whole neck setup was very loose. I ask about it before I took the bike home and they said it supposed to be like that. When I got home I took a wrench to it myself and the looseness went away. My rims were pinging. Not sure if it is because they were new or not. Customer Service For the most part I am happy with their service. The only ying is I feel rushed when someone approaches me. It's like here, take these are you done? Anyhow I find that they know what they are talking about and are actually knowledgeable help.
Similar Products Used: They have another store in Millburn NJ and they are so much better. From their service to their techs. I would go there instead of Stirling. |

Large selection of bikes, plenty of accessories. Very well set up shop with good parking and automatic sliding door so you can test ride bikes really easy out the door. I went there for a specialized bike and they had one of every model. I was at at least 7 dealers this week and none other had more than a small selection of the bikes. Very large selection in the store. They also have another store in Milburn. Customer Service Awesome
Similar Products Used: The rockhopper I bought comes with cheesy $3 pedals I presume because everyone takes them off in favor of clipless. I'm not ready for that jump just yet and after I mentioned that they threw a nice set of aluminum platforms on for me. I'll surely be back for when i'm ready for clipless.

I bought a $1000+ road bike from the shop and had a horrible experience. Didn't offer any setup or fitting of the bike when purchased, the sales clerk claimed not to know how to adjust the seat! After first ride, I found chain was not installed correctly and wheels need to be trued. Never went back. I would give a zero if possible |

I took off out of there in complete disgust and dissapointment. Absolutely no one asked me for help or assistance so I walked up to the counter to ask myself. I just waited like a fool while watching one staff member sitting on her pathetic behind at the register. The other two morons were shooting the breeze with each other and talking on the phone while "working" on bikes. You will not find courtesy, help or attention of any kind or some sense of order in this place. Staff randomely approach and help some customers while ignoring others. At times there are people forming a mass at the counter attemptimg to purchase items, but the staff are too disorgnized or zoned out to help them. Customer Service Don't look for any here, you won't find it. Similar Products Used: Go anywhere else!!!!! |
