Great selection from entry-level to high-end. Easy to get to, decent location near i93.
Compared to a lot of local shops they carry an awesome range, (most of the city-based shops around here don't carry a lot of Mountain bikes, but they do!)

Some awesome brands that other local shops don't carry such as Kona, Devinci, etc.

Customer Service

Super nice, laid-back no high pressure, willing to work and help. Great mechanics and salespeople!

My wife and I went in to look at bikes and carriers. We asked a couple of spur of the moment questions to one guy about a trunk-mounted carrier they had in stock, and then went off to look at bikes (which is what we were actually there for) and ended up talking to another guy.

A while after, the first guy came back over to us out of nowhere, and said "I looked up the carrier you asked about to double check and it won't work on your car, I didn't want you to go ahead and buy the wrong item in case you were thinking about it!". That was definitely awesome, since he could have just moved on from us and went to deal with other people. It made us feel like they cared.

Went out and test drove some bikes, and went back the next day to buy a Kona Fire Mountain.
Super helpful sales guy (Scott) helped me try on a million helmets, and the mechanic came out after giving the bike a once-over and talked to me about it, etc.

This is all stuff I would have expected on a high-end bike, but this was an entry-level hardtail! I will DEFINITELY be going back for more purchases in the future.

Great selection of mtb's, and they are a Yeti dealer (didn't see that listed here...). Have only had low pressure sales experiences there and I ended up being glad the sales guy talked me into buying those usb rechargable lights... ;) They're usually pretty laid back with their sales pitches and will help you get what you want. It's more advice than it is a sales pitch.

Customer Service

Everyone there is wicked friendly (dude) and easy to talk to. Have had issues in the past, but they we're right on top of making sure it got fixed. They've provided me with some great advice on troubleshooting and parts selection. The owner is super nice and his shop reflects that.

They've repeatedly earned my business. Wish i could say that about other shops in the Boston area, if you're near Medford try them.

Great shop. I'm a repeat offend^H^H^H^H customer and there hasn't been a time that they couldn't help me out or hook me up. I do everything I can to refer others here.

Customer Service

These guys are sick, kid. Very knowledgeable with no BS and no attitude. And if they don't know the answer immediately (which is rare) they tell you such and then do their research to get the correct info not only on what they carry in the shop but everything else, too. They always have an outlook that shows they love what they do and that they ride hard, not just show up for work to punch the clock.

The best shop in the Boston area and North Shore. Brian and his staff are top notch. Knowledgable and no pressure. The parts selection is excellent and if they don't have it, they will get asap. The brands they carry are superb with deep lines. From hardcore Roadie, DH'r, Freerider, XC, 29'r, family and BMX bikes, this is THE place to go.

Customer Service

Normal bike shop prices (MSRP), but their service is excellent and inexpensive.

Customer Service

Excellent repair service. Their rates are inexpensive and their work are second to none.

On a couple of ocassions I was provided pricing that was a bit misleading and they can sometimes use hard sales tactics. Hence, I will not give them a perfect rating. IMO a 3 rating is average and I would give the store a 4 overall

I have been a regular customer at JRA for about 10 years. I have purchased all kinds of bikes there for me and for my family.
I have seen the shop come a long way since it moved from across the street into its more spacious and renovated new digs at its current location.
Brian and his staff are all dedicated riders who know every cycling discipline in detail. Brian still races all the time. They know how to quickly find out what the customer needs now and is likely to need in the future. They are very open and honest in their selling approach, steering people to the right choice for their needs and abilities. The range of brands and price points virtually ensures that there is a bike for you at JRA whether you are a beginner or a high-end gear addict like me.

Customer Service

As someone who has been a long time customer, I feel like I can come in anytime and get my bike fixed up in a flash. But when I am there, I also notice how patient and attentive they are to random walk-in folks who just got a flat on their beater junk bike. There is no attitude.
When I am looking for some exotic part, they take the time to look it up, or call me with a price later.
I trust them to do a great job on my new build. And if there ever is an issue, Brian can solve it promptly, unlike with a mail order company. I bought a new wheel once that kept having problems, so he just swapped it for another, no questions asked.

After so many years, JRA now truly feels like my bike shop.
As a regular customer, I have developed a relationship with many benefits: preferred pricing, no shipping costs or dealing with anonymous customer service reps, last minute fix before a ride, first dibs on new products...etc.
I recently realized that if I ever were to move out of Boston, JRA would be a really hard shop to replace. But maybe Brian would know who to talk to... He's that kind of guy.

Great shop specializing in MTBing.
I just bought a GT 29er from Brian after he let me ride the loaner bike for 2 weeks. The guys in the service department made sure everything was right before I took delivery

Service is second to none.

Mountain, BMX, Cross, Road, Commuter... they do it all. Service is a specialty, and all the boys are willing to spend some time dishing out (good!) advice. Fair prices on quality bikes, parts, service and accessories. No attitude. No ATTITUDE!!!

Customer Service

As I said above, Service is a specialty. Quick turnaround times and quality workmanship is standard.

Brian and his guys have built a great shop for everything from family cycling to freeriding. Great selection of bikes and parts, and repairs are meticulous.

Customer Service

My family has purchased 6 bikes and countless repairs and parts from him over the past few years. Everybody at JRA rides so they know what works and what doesn't. They can give a solid assessment of what *you* need for *your* riding style and never push stuff that's more than you need. There are other bike shops in my area, but JRA is worth the 45 minute drive for the peace of mind that I'll be taken care of properly.
