Nice shop with a big selection of bikes, although the selection for women's bikes are quite small compared to the men's.

Customer Service

I've been there twice in the last month. About 10 years ago when I was in my mid-thirties I purchased a Trek bike. Customer service was very good. However, I'm now in my mid-forties and I felt completely invisible the last few times I've visited the shop. Absolutely no one in the store asked if I needed help with anything. However, anyone else that entered the store was helped (and asked multiple times from different employees) if they needed help. Bottom line: unless you're a male of any age or a female younger than 40, you will be ignored. I now avoid this shop and will spend my money elsewhere. Ironically though, as an executive in the work force, my salary allows me to spend much more money than someone much younger (apparently their target customer base).

This is a brief summary for all the Columbia, Fed-Hill, and Ellicott City Store. I deal mainly with Columbia, since I am mostly in that area.

Customer Service

Columbia-Great service. Attentive when help is asked for. More so than Princeton sports(I don't dig the uppity vibe there). Employees have made suggestions that have significantly improved the charactristics of my bike. Shorter dude in early-mid-30's is real helpful.

Fed-Hill-Equally friendly and attentive. Younger guy named Paul was real nice. Only reason I did NOT buy a bike here was due to cost. I stumbled upon a 2011 EX9 at The Bicycle Connection in Cockeysville for the same price RacePace wanted to sell me an EX5 for . I did feel guilty but $1500 savings is ALOT for a mountainbike and prefer not to "haggle" so I bought at TBC.

Ellicott City-Least Favorite, can't explain why. Not as attentive as other 2 stores I visit.

Very friendly, nice selection of instock stuff. All products are a little pricey here, but profit is not a bad word. If difference in price was 50-75 on my trek fuel ex9, I would have bought here, but $1500 was too much of a difference.

Huge show room and selection. If they don't have it in the shop they can order it or advise you on something else that will work!

Customer Service

First off Ben Cramer was the main guy I dealt with. His advice and knowledge was helpful in finalizing my MTB. He helped me narrow down the fork and head set I was going to buy and did! His approach was one to help me, not sell me; that sold me on the shop!

Needless to say, when my parts arrive I will being going back to see Ben

Huge shop, lots of bikes and parts available, and that's good.

Customer Service

I was asked if I needed help several times while I was exploring the shop.

I was there to have a Ride On cable system installed. I went to them because they sell the system, and I wanted it done right. However, they charged me for installation, and adjusting the derailuers. The installation should have covered any adjustments, I feel I was over charged. For that I won't have them do repairs on any of my bikes now. But if I needed to buy something, I'd still go to them.

There are a few guys who work here who are great. The rest are not so great. In fact, after spending 3k there they often seem like it is a pain when I come in. I feel like I should be apoligizing for buying over priced items from them. Go to another bike shop if you can.

There are one or two of the staff who know what they are talking about. The rest: clueless. I recall having them order me a part, driving to get it three days later and when I arrived having them say that they hadn't ordered the part. What, no courtesy call?

In addition, you can find more competitive prices at nearly any other bike shop.

Great shop, I highly recommend them. Very knowledgeable, willing to work with non-pro's like myself who just go out to beat themselves up and have fun every weekend. I bought a road bike (Trek 1500) from them at the end of 2006. They were also willing to special order a Shimano part (for my MTB, summer of 2007) that they normally don't carry so that I could do a repair myself.

I've done business with the Ellicott City store and Columbia store. Both are great shops.
