1) Was not greeted
2) Ignored
3) Left after 10 minutes
4) Won't be back!

Customer Service

Terrible. There were two other customers besides myself. As I walked through their bike selection (at least 3 times), there were two guys in the service area with arms folded on their chest watching me wing it on my own.
I left after 10 minutes of being ignored. What a lousy experience that was!
I felt like I was invisible.

Sad, because I had done my research and was ready to purchase a new Trek.

I understand when a shop is busy, it is difficult to satisfy every customer. They wern't busy, they had employees standing around doing nothing. It was like I walked into the Post Office to mail a package, and everyone went on break....except I was prepared to make a major purchase.

Decent selection of quality gear, especially given the size of the shop.

Customer Service

This is the true strength of the store. They take the time to understand your needs as a cyclist and then offer suggestions based on your input, even steering you to a less expensive option if they feel it will serve your needs.

Excellent customer service! I've dealt with Marco, Sean, Scott, Dean, Tom, Bill, Ariel and a few others (can't remember their names) and they are always helpful and honest. I was in there today working up a new bike through the Trek crash replacement program and the manager (Scott) was very helpful. Unlike many shops, Scott didn't default to the most expensive option when I asked his opinion on something. In fact, he described in detail why he thought less expensive options would be better in some cases. During my visit today, he even recommended to another customer to buy an item at another store (a non-cycling store) as the customer could get the same thing at a cheaper price there. In all, I've had very positive experiences at this store.

Customer Service

Honest

The manager was very rude and hostile. I went with the full intention of buying a new bike on site and he made my experience hell. I ended up not buying a bike there and will go to Bike America. Just can't say enough how rude the manager was.

Customer Service

The manager made my new bike experience hell. He was very rude and inconsiderate.

Nice shop with a good variety of parts and bikes. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful. The are very good at supporting the local cycling scene. Bringing in Trek and Fisher bikes to demo days at Shawnee Mission park was a good way to test their products out.

Customer Service

Staff is knowledgeable and helpfull. I don't know why the other reviewer thought they were not helpfull. Every time I have been there they have been friendly and helpfull.

One of the few shops I frequent in the Kansas City area. If you ride a Trek, Fisher, or brand they carry this is the shop to visit.

The physical store layout from a customer shopping experience is pleasurable and there is certainly a large selection of bikes and accessories, even though I am surprised at how many of the Trek lower end models are produced overseas such as in China. As the American consumer has learned product and safety quality is of a very low caliber with prices that are reflective of American produced goods.

Customer Service

From a pure customer service perspective regardless of what industry you are comparing this store too; it has one of the poorest. They do not appear to have a customer care approach or an initiative to provide any. On average, no one greets you upon entering the store and sales support is sparse at best. I saw very few smiles and an almost disinterest in understanding your needs or interests.
I can only assume that the store caters to a high end customer that spends way over what the average customer does so there is no need to strive to maintain a relationship with the general public.

Large, well-lit, nice show room with plenty of goodies to drool over. Mostly this stuff is on the pricier side, but it's also very nice gear. To put it differently - there is a significant gap between the quality of bicycle at Target compared with the quality of bicycle here.

They have enough bike gadgets, apparel, and parts on display, though it's not the hugest selection depending on what you're looking for. But still, I say "enough" because they only seem to carry good packs, good pumps, good grip tape, etc (no reason to keep 8 wal-mart grade pumps and then 3 good pumps... they stock just the 3 good pumps, for example).

Customer Service

Overall very nice. A+ guys! I haven't had a tune-up here, but I saw plenty of people wheeling bikes out of their service area when I was in there, and everyone seemed pretty pleased (except for one guy who brought in a wheel so bent they couldn't possibly have fixed it ... bummer, dude).

I can *maybe* understand why some of the people who left lower ratings might have thought these guys were snobby, but seriously guys I think you felt that way because you felt your gear was inferior or something. I have a couple of schwinn bikes and some gadgets that are perfectly fine for my taste and style of riding, though this shop would never carry them (not high enough quality). That doesn't mean they're snobby or elitist - they still "talked shop" with me without making me feel small or dumb.

I went to this store today. I had read the two harsh reviews but wanted to see their selection of Trek hybrids. I was welcomed and helped very quickly. The lady that helped me was very helpful and knowledgeable. They were pretty busy and they still helped me out. I did not buy anything but felt that I should share a good experience non the less on here.

just to debunk some of the previous reviews on this shop. i cant think of one mechanic who DOESN'T ride offroad. As for the sales staff, 75% of those guys and two of the 3 gals race off road. one of the gals races cross, so i'll consider that 'off' road.
therefore, the comment that the trek store of kc has some kind of bias against the mtb persuasion is, well........ludicrous. there's plenty of bike geeks in that shop that will talk your ear off about road, mtb, commuting and touring. and FYI, the shop is CROSS' crazy. so for those that have had issues in the past, i know that mngment would love to here about it, because if there is one thing that shop is, it's 'bike' crazy. and they are happy to make their customers just as bike crazy. this shop truly wants the community involved with cycling, no matter if its racing, commuting or just trying to get back in shape. they really care about the community they are apart of.

p.s to those former customers that have left unhappy, if it means enough to you, scott, tom, sean or any employee would be happy to here your comments and would love to try to make it right. no sense in being bitter, its bikes man! ITS SUPPOSE TO BE FUN!
