I had high expectations of this LBS because I've heard only good things about them and they seem to always be at local races. I broused the shop for a few minutes before being greeted which is exactly the way I prefer so I can get a look at the style of the shop and the brands and price range.

The best part is that he spent time with me to discuss build parts for the frame and gave me advice that I will certainly use. This became one of my favorite shops after only visiting it once.

Customer Service

These guys did not disappoint. First of all, they are riders and Keving, the owner, is a first class guy who is full of information and most of all modest. I was trying to buy a Niner Sir 9 and he made me feel so comfortable with the purchase that I ordered it no knowing my size or color preference. He said we would work that out later when stock arrived.

Sometimes after visiting a shop I think "just buy online" because the service and attitude are so bad. This shop made me think the opposite. If only they were closer to where I lived...

Very friendly people do work here. It is very convenient for me also. I am the kind of guy that likes to work on his own bike and buy parts online. BUT, this one instance, I was in a hurry to get on the road to a 3 day trip to NC and some of their great trails so Outspokin put new shifter cables on for me and tuned up the bike. I got about 2 hours of good riding at Tsali when the shifting went to crap. Took the bike to a local shop and turned out that they had installed brake cables for my XT shifter cables. And charged me for it. I haven't let them work on my bike since. But I still but shorts and other items there. Beware if they are working on a bike that you did not buy there.

I really liked the location of this shop. It's a true "down town" area without the congestion. Inside the shop was a great selection of bikes, apparel, parts and accessories. It appeared to me that they carried more parts in stock than any other bike shop in north GA.

Customer Service

What really caught my attention was that no one tried to tell me how great their products are. Even when I showed interest in particular items, there wasn't a single mention of how superior the products were, or inferior to more expensive products they had in stock. I was simply provided the part I was interested in and nothing more.

I was curious about features of their shop, things that obviously conveyed my interest in doing my own maintenance, and Kevin treated me with the same respect and demeanor as he had before. Several shops, almost all, become indignant when they realize my intentions to do my own maintenance, being a significant source of income for LBS's. Kevin even went to the lengths of looking up part numbers for tools I showed an interest in.

Beyond the great service, the prices for the products I was looking for were lower than any where else in north GA. [I've been to every bike shop in GA north of Atlanta this year, so I'm pretty up to date.] I wasn't intending to purchase anything, but I felt like I needed to patronize a shop that impressed me as much as this one did.

Full service shop with strong ties to the community.

Customer Service

Awesome! They say what they will do and do what they will say, for what the said, when they said it will be done. Never too busy to take care of you. Never pushing product, but always available to answer questions and offer advice.

They have the best bike eye-candy in the area. They carry a good selection of parts for what they sell, etc. Customers have open view of the service area, which means the service guys can even answer your questions while they work on your or someone else's bike. They will even stop and come to show you something else, if it helps answer your question. They almost seem embarrassed to try to sell you something and base their answers on what they would do for themselves if they were in your spot. I've never had a bad experience or a bad moment there. They have a good balance of MTB and roadie equipment, bikes and customers.

I didn't buy my bike there (it's not the closest shop to me), but that has never slowed them down from giving me great advice and service and treating me like I'm a VIP.

If I were to have a shop, it would be exactly like this one, except I would add a coffee bar (ok, maybe a beer tap too, if I could get away with it).

I began trail riding about a year ago using a $58.00 bike I picked up at a local Wal-Mart. I actually used it for a month or two, so I upgraded to a Schwinn from Target that was about as nice of a bike as you can get without going to an actual bicycle.

Having ridden that bike into the ground in 6 months, I decided it was time to invest in the real thing. I wasn't ready for a six thousand dollar full suspension bike just yet - I wanted to start off under $1K.

I shopped online. I shopped a lot. I read all of the reviews on this site. I talked to guys on the local trail (Blankets Creek). All signs indicated that Outspokin was the local bike shop for me.

I went there on a Saturday afternoon with my boys. We were greeted at the door by a very friendly white dog which was lovable and kept my noisy sons company while I drooled over the bikes. I was greeted by Kevin, the store owner, and he patiently walked me through the bikes. He gave me a catalog from the Specialized company and insisted I continue to shop before I made a decision.

He used no sales tactics. No pressure. He was just there and answered my questions. He was very low-key and laid back.

I did my shopping around and sent an email to Outspokin late at night. Around lunchtime the next day, I had a full reply, very well written and very thorough from Josh who works in the store.

I stopped by the store again and ordered myself a Specialized bike with mechanical disc brakes (Rockhopper). They didn't have my frame size, but they insisted I not compromise on the frame and ordered me a bike special. They assembled it the day it arrived, and called me promptly at the number I left to let me know it was ready.

They let me watch as they put the finishing touches on it in their shop area - open to the store, btw - and I was off.

If you are going to run a small business, this is how you do it. Outspokin is an awesome operation, and I am a demanding customer.

Customer Service

The customer service was friendly, laid-back, and polite. No one tried to sell me anything with pushy tactics. No one refused any request I made of them. It was like hanging out with bikers at the trail. Since these guys are all bikers at my local trail, I guess that makes sense.

There was no snobbery or face-making at my ignorance or newbie status as someone who didn't know the difference between one bike and another. They were patient, respectful, open, and honest.

I will shop there again. I will send people to Outspokin. I will be doing the upgrades on my bike there. What an awesome experience. It was like buying a new car, except without the crummy sales tactics, with reasonable prices, and support and service from friendly people local to my area.

I road my Rockhopper around the trail tonight to start breaking it in. What an awesome ride compared to my previous two bicycles! Now to upgrade it!!!

The most up to date inventory in the metro Atlanta area. Not afraid to give the smaller boutique builders a chance either. Plenty of inventory and the knowledge to help anyone (newbie to experienced) make a decision.

Customer Service

The guys in the shop never forget your name. You are their most important customer when you visit, even if it is your first. The laid back atmosphere is inviting, and it doesn't hurt that these guys have the best bike candy in town. It has been my experience that they will do anything necessary to make sure that you are satisfied with their services.

The staff and inventory make them, hands down, the BEST shop in the area.

Hello my name is "Roofus" and I work at OutSpokin' bikes in Woodstock. I am the only person at this shop that builds wheels and I think the previous post has another Outspokin named shop in mind. I have never told a customer I "can't", "won't", or "not". We are a high end shop and building dream bikes is what we do. Also we do not stock any hubs that have 20mm or such front hubs and only have 1 specialized enduro with a hub that size. thank you.

Customer Service

Above and beyond. just like the other posts.

Well stocked store with plenty of selections. I like the lay out and the Woodstock location.

Customer Service

And I quote "From a child's first bike to the enthusiast's custom built dream machine, Outspokin' Bicycles want to make our customer's cycling experience the best it can be." words and actions are as different as you can get here. I had a fork that only takes a specific hub and I asked for it to be built/laced up, well correction before I could ask my question with hub in hand I was told immediately "I'm NOT building that". I was then led down a road of you need this rim and this hub, which of course they had there in stock, and this fork would be better. Thanks for your opinion but I will decide what I want to ride.

All other visits have been helpful. That one visit really soured my experience and then especially when the shop describes itself as open "to the enthusiast's custom built dream machine.."
They did not like my custom built dream machine. By the way I love my Maverick ML7 with DUC32, it does everything I want and always asks for more

Good selection of acc. and bikes. Poor customer service.

Customer Service

I must have caught this bike shop on a bad day because I waited for 5-10 minutes for help and my friend and I were the only ones in the shop. There were three guys in the service area and I stepped back to ask for help and say hello. After a few more minutes a guy came out and helped me. I needed a tube and patch kit on the way to the trail and the bike shop was on the way. I purchased the most expensive tube I've bought in my life from this shop. Nobody said hello, thanks for coming in, or asked us to come back.

There was a negaitive review regarding this shop on city guide when I looked for bike shops in north metro atlanta. I should had trusted the review. They employees on duty that day were poor representives of this shop and biking in general. If I had been new to the sport looking for information and been treated as I was treated that day, I probably would have a very negative impression of bikers.

I don't know about the technical abilities of the staff because no one wanted to talk with us.

Physically not big but crammed with just about anything one can need. They offer a great lineup from high end accessories to cheaper lower end products to fit any budget/taste/size. This said, i am yet to see a product there that i wouldn't buy so they really know how to pick their stock.

As far as bikes go, the selection is vast but they generally have to order it for you since the stock is mostly demos and display models. You can buy one of them, but often they are not current (Model year), so ordering is the norm. Discounts on old in stock models are shallow though.. so again, go in, get fitted, order, come back and pick up built bike.

Customer Service

They are hardcore bikers and know their stuff. Having made several trips there while wondering what bike to get not once did i not get an answer to something. If something won't work for you, they will tell you, and not just sell it to you.

Service is prompt, the staff is great and I can't find a single things to not praise. Follow up service is equally outstanding. Repair rates are average but they do top notch work and will go the extra mile to make you happy; they are fast too so you can drop it and have it taken care on the spot most of the time.

Even if you are not into biking much, after a few visits there you will be. They are not just another retailer, they sell and maintain what they do.
