Shop summary is positive. One look inside the door explains it all. Open the same hours as the store. REI members get 20% off labor. Return time, for repairs, is within reason for the season. Plenty of high-end road and mountain bikes waiting for service is always a good sign.

Customer Service

Customer service was what I expected. I told them what I wanted and they told me what I needed. The staff in the shop have many years of experience and looks as though they keep the "kids" employed at other local shops. If you want a shop thay doesn't dumb down their feedback and is able to back up their words with professional service, this is the only place in Atlanta to take your bike.

Walking into the shop is like a religious experience for cyclist. They have all their tools on the walls and very well lit. The main station has a restored Masi GC hanging over it and the guy to the right has perfect old steel bikes always on rotation for others to enjoy. The guy on the left is the Stone Mountain ride organizer and I understand there is a Doctor working as well. Funny how REI does not advertise the bike shop. Local rags always have other shops as #1, but there is no truth to that. If you treat your bike like crap, they will tell you. I had to get used to that.

As mentioned in the prevoius review, this shop is part of an REI which sells all sorts of outdoor equipment. I agree with most of what was said in the last review. This is a great place to get service on your bike by knowledgeable techs at a fair price. I've tried a lot of the shops inside the perimeter in the Northeast, and generally been disappointed because they did not have mountain bike experience. This place does enough mountain bikes that they have all the right stuff. Also a good place to pick up common parts like cables, housing, ferrules. I've bought a number of parts here. I haven't bought a bike here, so I can speak to that, except to say that they really stand by the stuff they sell--great guarantee.

Customer Service

Very good. Best around 9-5 when the more senior techs are on duty.

Looking at the other shops given 5's in Georgia, I'm giving this one all 5's, as it would be unfair to give them lower than some of the shops I've used and been less impressed with, but which are currently ranked a 5.

This REI bike shops is one of the better shops onthe Atlanta area. All of their certified and Master techs are trained at BBI(barnett's bicycle institute) in colorado springs so the mechanics know the correct way to do do repairs and they stand behind all of their work.

Customer Service

SOme days it is verygood while other days it gets really busy because rei sells lots of bikes. THe weekends get very busy. Just like any good shop you can't expect to get quality work done right on the spot so expect to leave your bike with them for 2-7 days.

Correction: Anything you buy at REI has a 100% satifaction guarantee and there is no 30 day time limit like one reviewer mentioned. Become a member and they will keep arecord of your purchase history for you so you don't haveto hang on to reciepts.

I can't believe no one has reviewed this yet. REI on the NE expressway is a nice shop. There's an old guy in the shop who's reall cool and knowledgeable, and does good work for a fair price. The people are pretty friendly but they're not the most knowledgeable of the latest stuff out - it's really like an out doors dept store. Their bike line up is limited to stuff like Cannondale, ect but they have a decent selection of fair priced, small parts. Also, they stand behind their products - full 100% return policy with-in 30 days.

Customer Service

Good but not the most knowledgeable.

I go there first for the best deals on small parts before ordering on line.

The guys at both the N. Druid Hills and the Perimeter locations are good mechanics who get the work done fast and for less than anywhere else, especially if you are an REI member. Also, they have shown some expertise at times that is sorely lacking at most bike shops. Many times, I go in for something small and they won't let me pay them but say "no problem", as they don't have the same incentive to gouge everyone who walks in the door, like at many small shopes, nor are they ever pushy salemen in way.
