Online/ Ebay purchase of demo bike from Bitterbrush Cycles of Lyons, CO.

Unprofessional, lacking integrity

Customer Service

POOR, POOR, POOR. NO Professionalism. No customer service savvy.

Bike shipped was not as advertised. Frame and fork were fine. Crank/bottom bracket, brakes all had issues. Handlebars were not same as advertised. This shop must also lack in pride since they even shipped the bike filthy dirty and looking gummy!

When shop notified before ebay seller review completed to discuss Owner/manager became aggressive, flippant and snide. Total lack of PROFESSIONALISM!!!

I would never buy from this shop again. Bitterbrush Cycles should take lessons from 918XC in Tulsa. That is a shop that knows how to treat customers correctly with class and professionalism. All you Niner customers need to give 918XC your business!!!

This review is for their on-line business, never been to the store itself. I was in the market for an Ibis Mojo and the guys at Bitterbrush made me a killer deal. Between their pricing and the fact that I didn't have to pay Cali sales tax I ended up saving well over $1K than if I had bought local.

Communication with Bitterbrush was good and they answered e-mail promptly. They were also pretty patient with the changes I wanted after placing the initial order. They had to get some links and parts in the color I wanted direct from Ibis but when all was said and done I had my beautiful new bike delivered in less than two weeks.

Overall I was pretty happy but take away one point because , although the bike was assembled, it was obvious that there was no attempt made to deliver a well tuned bike. The wheels weren't true, the derailluer cable was so long that as soon as I shifted out of the biggest cog it started hitting the spokes, the brake pads rubbed against the rotors, etc., etc.

Anyhow, I'm happy that I got my bike from Bitterbrush because with all the optional upgrades it would have been out of my budget if I had gotten it locally. Still, although an hour or so of work in the garage isn't going to kill me, I would expect that when i spend nearly $5k on a complete bike it shouldn't need a tune-up before hitting the trial.

Small, neat, but stocked with the parts a mountain biker needs.

Customer Service

Walked in on Sat. with a broken P screw plate. Didn't have the part.(most shops wouldn't.) Left 20 min later with a new shadow derallier and cable installed. All for less than $100. Most important I was back to riding.

Bitterbrush Cycles is a well appointed bike shop in the small town of Lyons,CO. Good supply of higher end bikes & accessories. Full suspension bikes for rent and the offer to share the great local riding areas with a "walk-in".

Customer Service

I was on a ski trip & had a photography exhibit to attend just outside of Lyons. Since I saw they are an Ibis dealer, I called in the spur of the moment to see if they had any Mojos in stock. I explained how I wanted to see one in person & ride it, if at all possible. Glen, the owner & lone winter employee, said he had only one in stock & it was set up as a demo(YES!).
I barely had time to make it before closing. He said, "no problem, come on in and give it a test". I made it in time and took the Mojo for a ride, while he waited beyond his closing time for me to return!
He explained some of the options & build kits as well as his personal take on the Mojo. He also described the other bikes & builds he thought I'd be interested in. Never was there any pressure, and he said he'd work with me if I was so moved.

The owner waited for me , accommodating my needs, even when the odds of me (from Kansas) making a purchase were minimal at best. I felt grateful for his ability to help and inform a fellow biker without any perceived self gain.
The only "complaint" I have was the lack of instruction as to how the RP23 shock functioned in the ProPedal mode, until I returned from the ride. This oversight was as much my error as Glen's, so no worries.
No hesitations here for high marks!

I made a purchase via their website.

Customer Service

Terrible. See "other comments."

I ordered a new fork. When it arrived it wasn't in the box of the original manufacturer, there wasn't a owners manual, or warranty card.

The fork looked as if it was an OEM take off.

Then they told me I couldn't return it! When they finally agreed to take it back, they deducted 10% for restocking fees! Keep in mind, the only I was returning it is because it wasn't new.

To be honest, I didn't expect much from a tiny shop in Lyons. I was pleasantly surprised. I was the only person there on a weekday afternoon and had the employee's undivided attention. The thing was, he was not pushy, not trying to pressure me to buy something (which was what you might expect in a shop without any other customers). I got some good information, some insight into choosing some new tires, and a complement on my own bike. I'm only sorry the poor employee had to clean up my drool around all the awesome bikes they stock.

Bitterbrush Cycles is everything a local shop should be. They are friendly, professional and passionate about the local riding in Lyons and the surrounding area. If you want to know where to find the best rides, they can point you in the right direction. Both Mountain biking and road biking.

They stock the shop with the hard core gear that fits the community as well as people from out of town. They also rent full suspension mountain bikes.

Customer Service

Excellent. If they don't have it, they will order it. They also provide advice and alternatives on upgrades or replacement parts.
