Bicycle Outfitters has MY Money, MY Bike and a Full Wholesale Refund.

Don't be another victim of Brad and Bicycle Outfitters.

I purchased an electric bicycle for $2200 plus tax from Brad at Bicycle Outfitters on First Street, GJ, CO, August 2013. The bike was a lemon and I had to return the bike many times for alleged repairs.

I took the bike back for the last time to Brad, June 2014. Brad was in Italy on a bike trip and an employee assured me that Brad would contact me as soon as he returned from vacation. I did not receive any communication from Brad despite my numerous inquiries. Brad had my phone number, email address and mailing address. Brad was always "busy" every time I called. In August 2014, I called again and the employee stated Brad was "busy". I threatened to contact an attorney, and Brad was suddenly available to take my call. In that conversation, Brad agreed to a full refund of my money. I waited. I mailed two written reminders about the $2400+ he had agreed to refund.

I contacted the BBB and got nowhere. In November 2014, I contacted my credit card company and filed a dispute. However, as the disputed was not filed in 2013, the credit card company could do nothing.

In 2015 I contacted the bicycle Distributor. The distributor (Polaris) had given Brad a full refund for the bike. I have an email from Michael Marquis, Operations Manager, that Bicycle Outfitters received the money and was to give the total amount of refunded money to me. Brad received the check in November 2014 while the credit card dispute was open.

Brad, the owner of Bicycle Outfitters stole my bike, my money and the manufacturers money. He claims I owe him money for transportation when the bike was being "repaired". Brad NEVER stated that I owed $50 per pickup/drop-off. This further display of theft was brought up during the credit card dispute.

Customer Service

Wretched. The owner, Brad, is scum. He has my money, my bike and the distributor's full refund.

What a scumbag!

Good array of budget to high-end bikes, with a lot of parts and accessories, and a helpful, knowledgeable staff.

Customer Service

Not just another bike shop. I first went to Bicycle Outfitters because I was interested in moving from a 26" to a 29" mountain bike. Brad, the owner, was interested and knowledgable, and gave me a thorough rundown of my options. And he does have the stuff on hand, from the reasonably priced to the high end. All this I found to be quite valuable.
I then went back a few weeks later and continued the discussion. He remembered me, and we had a thorough consideration of the issues before my final decision, which was to buy a very cool new bike. He was always interesting, insightful, and an overall good sport about the whole thing. He knocked himself out for me. I have ended up feeling happy and well taken care of.

I spent some time there on a Saturday morning, and it is clearly a center of local biking activity. But while it is a local hotspot, Brad and his staff are also quite experienced in all of the issues of national and international customers landing in the area and needing a bike shop. And he won't try to sell you anything you don't need.

I've been to just about all the bike shops in Moab/Fruita/Grand Junction, and its seems to me that Bicycle Outfitters is the best.

The shop is actually full of bikes, all the other bike shops seem to have a lot of emty space and try to make their bikes look better by putting them on fancy displays. Brad's shop has all kinds of bikes in every performance range you could need.

Customer Service

Brad will take time to answer any questions and help you out, most recently I was in to buy a new helmet, had the helmet on the counter ready to pay and he told me he had a new helmet on order that would work better for me and that it was 40 dollars cheaper if I waited a few days. What other shop owner would take money off the table like that in the interest of the customer?

Recently tuned my bike and did a good job! Very happy with the results. He got rid of a problem that had been annoying me for a while.

Customer Service

Brad special ordered in some shoes and pedals for me to try without me even agreeing to buy them first. I tried them and his recommendation was spot on, so I bought them.

Prices were competitive with what I could have found the parts for online (if I paid the shipping). Brad knew I was new to the biking thing and was more then happy to spend some time answering my questions without any attitude.

I will be back....

BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Went to Bicycle Outfitters shop, paid $200 for a deposit on a bike, was told that I had 30 days to pay it off, I asked what would happen if there was a problem and I could not pay it off, and I was told it would be extended or I would be given my money back. Got laid off my job for lack of work, went in to Bicycle Outfitters, and I spoke to the shop owner (Brad) and told him my situation, that I could not pay it off, That I wanted my deposit back. He said I would lose my money if I did not pay it off, and that I only had 1 day to pay it off. I tried explaining to him what the other guy had said, he called me a liar and told me to get out of his shop. I refused to leave with out my money, he called the cops, and became threatening, He told me to get out of his store several times, I told him that I would go ahead and pay the remainder, take the bike and leave, he said that I had lost my deposit, and then said he would have me arrested...I finally was able to give him the remainder of what I owed, and take the bike, but he never even gacve me a receipt, concerned he might still call the cops and report the bike stolen or something, this guy is a crook, I dont suggest anyone do business with him, I spoke to every bike shop in town about this, and everyone of them said that they have heard stories such as mine from lots of people, that its nothing new. I am reporting Bicycle Outfitters to the BBB, also writting all the local papers as well. Stay away!!!!!! Other guys seem nice enough, but the owner Brad is off, he is a thief, a cheat and a liar. I was informed that they lost a Trek account because of this guys behavior.
