By far the worst bike shop for any support you can imagine...and the owner knows it and does not care. Took in my TT bike for a quick brake fix and the service department managed to crack my carbon fiber frame. I worked with them through the "warranty work" as I was trying to be nice about the situation, but when it came back that they were not going to warranty the work I was called back and told I needed to shell over $1400+ for a new frame. I called to talk to Scott, owner, and all he had to say was that it wasn't their fault and I was in for a $50 job so he isn't paying for the new frame...WTF! Even the mechanic says he cracked it! I went in for a minor repair and they are making me buy a brand new bike. My sponsor said to forget about them as did my attorney and friends. I have told everyone I know to stay away unless you are looking for something to be broken. Even the people that recommended me to them are no longer going back. Right now my attorney is working through the details so once I'm done with them they may net be open so you won't have to worry about your personal items as they won't be an option.

Let's just say it has now been 2 1/2 months dealing with these yahoos and they did not even offer a replacement ride while they try to figure out their screw up. Missed 3 races and had to borrow a ride for another. Horrible, management, horrible service, and they care nothing about the customer.

DO NOT GO TO BIG RING FOR ANYTHING...THEY JUST WANT YOUR MONEY AND DONT CARE ABOUT YOU OR YOUR THINGS!

Customer Service

They do not care about you or your bike, just your money. Even when they manage to break it, they try to say it is all just part of the job and chances you take when getting service. How many times have you taken your Lexus to the service department for a tire rotation and they manage to bend your chassis...do you really think that they are not going to fix their mistake, and in the meantime give you a loaner? THESE GUYS WON’T. They will break your components and then tell you to buy a new one if warranty won’t cover. I think the mechanics there may be good, but I will never know. They cracked my frame and said sorry and the owner, Scott, does not care about anything.

And that 2nd visit was the last, out shopping for mountain bikes thought I would visit local shop went during week (place was empty I was ONLY customer). Redundant selection, bad attitudes, wish they would try and fit you like they say, but if your not in the market for a cannondale, or have $$$ falling out of your pockets dont bother! The bone heads want to sell you what they have PERIOD. If you want to pay $30 for $10 dollar excessories, this is your shop! If you have more money then sense, this is your shop! I was riding mountain bikes when these punks were riding big wheels. Will take business elsewhere

Customer Service

sales rep: what's your budget
customer: not sure haven't shopped in a while, what do you have?
sales rep: nothing in the store I can show you
customer: seriously. well then go back to standing behind the counter, with your thumb up your shaft! Sorry to have bothered you!

Pretentious punks. If they weren't "geared up" in all their accessories LOOKING like mountain bikers I would love to recognize one on the trail so I can tell him to his face and THEN steal his bike!! Honestly I cant comment on technical expertise wouldn't give them a chance, but you know their tech rides his bike to work because he isn't old enough to drive a car!

Small shop with a GREAT selection of high end bikes. I have had nothing but good experience with the service during and AFTER the purchase. I stop in just to say hi sometimes and they have some nice little parties. I like the small shop feel and the personal touches.

Customer Service

GREAT. I am not the easiest rider to deal with, but they have put up with me every time I go in :)

Big Ring Cycles is the best! they are sooooo good! They are way cool and helpful. The little guy, Jason, is clearly into dudes. He will talk to you as long as you act as if you are as well. Also, if you ever need your chain lubed. let me suggest Scott. He is always eager to help.

These guys Kick Ass!

Nice high end stuff. Not a large selection of gear, but some nice bikes. We had a bike we purchased there serviced recently, the bike came out making more noise than when it went in. The bar around the corner is a good place to go though.

Customer Service

If you are looking for customer service during and/or after the sell, don't go here. The owner, Scott, will talk with you as long as you are buying something (something expensive) but once the purchase is over, so to is the customer service. Go back in the store to just chat or look about and he (Scott) acts as if you are not there. There are a couple of others in the store that treat you a little better, but all in all, not a place to stop in and discuss the Tour. We will never purchase from there again.

There are too many high end places in the Denver area to spend your money in. Go to a place that appreciates your business, not only when you are pulling out the visa card, but after the sell as well.

Agree with other reviewer's..lot of nice bikes and high end shop. However, dont expect good customer service from them.

Customer Service

In my opinion they provide terrible service. I did not purchase a bike from them and perhaps if you did you would receive better service. As another reviewer stated they are downright rude. Given the fact that there are so many other shops in Denver chose another if you want your bike serviced. I won't go into the details but you can bet I will never step foot in this shop again !

I removed my more angry review on this shop. I was very dissapointed with the lack of detail they used building my bike.

I have been coming to Big Ring for a few years now...but not for mountain biking. I bought my first road bike there...a giant tcr. What a nice bike.
I always regarded Big Ring as a "road" shop. Recently i decided to give mountain biking a try. Dusted off the old Trek 820 and off I went. So, I fell in love and figured I might as well buy a new one (every little bit helps, right?) Started shopping around and hit all the "popular" shops. Found some great bikes but was a little annoyed by the customer service...or lack of rather. Anyway, after hitting the Golden shops and a few other big stores I had to go into Big Ring to get my road bike serviced. I never really noticed, but they also have a lot of mountain bikes! I never really thought of Big Ring for mountain bikes. Needless to say, they specialize in high end bikes, and that goes for the mountain side of things too. They had a bunch of Titus, Ibis and Cannondale bikes o ride and play around on.

Customer Service

Spent a good while being "interviewed" by Jason. Based on our conversation and a surprisingly thorough bike fit (for a mountain bike), he directed me toward a couple different bikes that suited me, my riding and my budget. They have a lot of nice bikes, so it was nice to have someone listen to me and find a bike that suits me. At the end, I had it narrowed down to a Cannondale Rize and the Titus Moto Lite. Ended up on the Moto Lite for various reasons (but that Lefty fork is something else on the Cannondale). I would have to say I was treated very well. Jason was upfront and honest and the service guy (Alec I think) took a bit of time and talked to me about suspension setup and maintenance .

Has to be one of the areas best kept secrets...always well known for road bikes and my new favorite mountain bike shop.

I don't know about others, but I walk into a lot of shops and think, "They don't have a single bike in her speced the way I would want to ride it." When I was buying a new bike a few years ago, I literally walked out of half the shops in Denver because they didn't have anything close to what I wanted when it came to a high-end MTB. Walk into Big Ring, however, and it is a complete drool-fest. They carry bikes that hard core bike junkies want and they are built the way we want them. It's not a huge operation, but, geez, they have the sickest inventory -- road and mountain. That makes Big Ring pretty cool. They recently built my pretty much dream race bike for me. I don't know, maybe we are all just used to walking into a bike shop and seeing a bunch of low-end or mediocre stuff. The good stuff doesn't come cheap, but Big Ring is at least one of the few places that carries it.

Customer Service

I wasn't initially impressed with Big Ring's customer service when I first went in there 4-5 years ago. But they've changed locations (the new shop is a HUGE improvement), some staff has come and gone and the place has grown on me. They've always given me fair deals on parts -- whether it is for a road or mountain build. They guys in there like cools bikes and they like to talk about them. In my experience, they haven't tried to sell me things I don't need and are looking to put on the right equipment. Start going in there regularly, and you get treated right. They don't have as many small parts in stock as bigger shops, but that's not really their gig.

Big Ring has always been known as a high-end road shop, and they still are. They've got the sickest road bikes I've ever seen. But they've also branched out and expanded their MTB line lately (finally carrying things other than Cannondale, too).
