Rod Clark at C3 Bike Shop (now defunct) cannot be trusted. This guy will take you for a ride. After numerous complaints and legal judgements filed agains this guy he is now out of business and gone deep underground. If Rod Clark does resurface I would strongly suggest any and all avoid engaging in any business practice with this guy. He is bad news!

Weekend Warrior

Totally unreliable.

Overpriced.

Shoddy work. Weld failed after 2 hours or riding!

Endless delays.

Does not take credit cards, and instead of just being up front about wanting to save merchant charges he blames his bank/vendor.

Blames the customer for his mistakes.

Customer Service

Horrendous customer service. The owner Rodney Clark took nearly 5 months to weld a disc brake mount onto my Schwinn Homegrown frame and paint it. It took him 2 and 1/2 months for the weld and paint job and another 2 months to reproduce my graphics. The missed deadlines were always someone else's fault.

We agreed upon a 6" (160 mm) rotor for the job, Rodney put this in writing. However, for a reason known only to him, he fabricated and welded a disc mount for an 8" (180 mm) rotor. Who puts a 180mm rotor on a XC Hardtail?!!!!

Bike was delayed again and I had to run to the local bike shop and cough up $65 for a rotor I didn't want. His excuse for spec'ing the job to a 180mm rotor instead of 160mm was that the SMALLER ROTOR WOULD PUT MORE LOAD STRESS ON THE FRAME! Wow!

He charged me $350 for a bike building class. He unpacked all of my components and did not warn be about any compatibility issues, so my class time was spent looking for parts at other LBS.

His brake mount weld failed after 2 hours of road riding. Had it failed under heavy breaking I would have been severely injured.

I think my rare Homegrown is ruined and now he won't refund my money.
