Strength:

Not many good things to say... They're a Trek and Specialized dealer and really that's all that ever is on their floor when they have bikes.

Weakness:

One of the least organized shops in the Bay Area with customer bikes always littered everywhere throughout the shop. Very little actual inventory of clothing, tools, saddles or really anything you'd go walk into a bike shop for. To top those issues off they're a bit snobbish as well trying to tell a family member their Giant TCR is junk and they should buy a new Specialized bike (bike was 2 years old and just needed a front derailleur adjustment) but upon requesting just the adjustment was told 2-3 weeks. I get Fremont doesn't have a lot of options but the other two shops in Fremont are miles ahead of this place as long as you don't need to buy a new Specialized or Trek.

Louzy service. They make you pay for walking in if they could. Had a $90 full service on my bike and they barely grease the chain!

Closest shop to where I live; basic parts; open; a little impersonal

Customer Service

As someone else said: spotty to lousy at best. Go in to pick up my bike, it's right in front, but the guy won't let it go without a receipt even though he was the one who wrote up the ticket less than 24 hours prior.

Got my brakes done, they came out complete nonsense. No modulation, nothing.

When I pay 5 grand for a bike, the last thing I want to hear a mechanic tell me is: why did you buy that bike? I don't like it.

I think it depends on the phases of the moon. They can be super nice to downright silly.

Basic Shop, they have a fair amount of bikes and parts. Neat and clean (except when they were remodeling). Good amount of products and fast ordering turn-around.

Customer Service

Customer Service: Spotty at best. The owner (Alan) is cool if you catch him on a good day which seems to be 50/50. There is a young guy that works there a couple of days a week that is really nice and helpful, as well as the young girl that works there too.

I have been going to them for over 15 years, though now i always cringe when i do. This is the closest LBS to me, and that is the only reason that i go there often. Their part selection is good, but YOU MUST HAVE GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE to be successful! A friendly hello is always a plus. Im not looking for them to lay out a red carpet, but when I ask "when will you have that (specific model) on the floor", they shouldnt reply "well, i got one in a box, and i got a lot of other things to do and that isnt a priority (to get the bike on the floor). Maybe later on, sometime". "when is later on specifically", i asked. "Maybe a few weeks or something", he replied.

Doesn't matter the customer service experiance tells all!

Customer Service

I called and asked if they would allow me to return the recently purchased and installed but "never road used" training wheels on my kids bike. Originally they said sure bring them back, when I did with the receipt in hand they said sorry we will not take them back because I did not have the box that was never given to me when they installed them on the bike.

I left thinking for a whopping $20 and Fred's bit if an attitude will surely keep me from buying anything from them. I guess the $20 was pretty important to him.

As a parent of 2 young kids who will probally buy a bike about every other year until their 16, this experiance will surely keep me from ever refurring anyone or buying from them again.

They need to look at their customer service a little closer, as a Salesperson myself I would never treat a customer like this. Over a silly issue like a box that was never given to me.

Good luck I hope someone from there reads this and handles the next issue with a little more thought.

Awesome bike shop! The people are great and the bikes are great!

Customer Service

These guys understand what good customer service is! The people are very knowledgeable and they take as long as needed to make sure all your questions are answered. They are enthusiastic about their jobs and they love to teach you how to fix things or make adjustments to your bike on your own. Everyone is always willing to help out. I love this place!

The Bicycle Garage is a great shop staffed by people that know their products well. In addition to a very nice inventory of bikes, they have a broad selection of parts. Their "wrenching" abilities are absolutely top notch. It's really a great place to buy a bike, to get one serviced, or to simply get some advice on new parts. I have been a very satisfied customer for many years, and I am not easy to please.

Customer Service

Customer service is probably the greatest strengh of the shop. The people are all very helpful and pleasant to work with-- no attitudes here (can't say that about many retail establishments).

I had BG build my Titus RX and I am very pleased with the finished product. Although they are not a Titus dealer, I purchased my parts through the shop and had them build-up my frame; I couldn't be happier with my decision. Sure I could have saved a few bucks searching the internet, but the service and build made this the better value proposition for me. Additionally, I prefer to support local shops. They also built my custom wheels (Mavic 819's and Hope hubs), and they have been absolutely bullet proof! Nice Work!
