I had good experiences at OBS with most of the staff. I appreciated the level of honest, no-bull sales and service. The OBS Service Department had never steered me wrong, selling me items or service I did not need. They always told me the straight dope on what was going on with my bike. Most of the sales staff were fairly knowledgeable, real-life cyclists, and low-pressure sales representatives. Almost everyone there in my opinion was a true bicycle ambassador. Customer Service I am no longer a customer at OBS, and it has nothing to do with any of the employees . All the employees I have dealt with have been very professional. The reason I no longer go to OBS is my issue with the owner, Dave (the father, not the son). Dave is not professional at all. He doesn't ride bikes, nor does he know anything about them. I have been a targeted victim of and have witnessed his ruthless up-selling of crap that people didn't need. I have been told things about bikes that I later found out were dead wrong. I have heard him spout off about various bicycle-related topics where it was clear that he either had no idea what he was talking about, and/or he was blowing smoke up a customer's butt to make a sale. Similar Products Used: In summary, this used to be my favorite bike shop. The previous owner had a passion for bikes. It seems to me as though the current owner only has a passion for the money to be made from them. |

Easily the best bike shop in town. I have been riding in Tucson for 20+ years and have run the gauntlet of bike shops around town and Ordinary Bike Shop is hands down the best shop. Customer Service Great customer service, everyone down there really knows their stuff. Similar Products Used: Great prices, great products, and if you need to special order anything they do so really quickly. |

I'm really surprised at the 2 previous reviews. I had been warned not to seek out Ordinary by several bicyclist friends who had been overcharged and bullied into buying new things that they didn't need from Ordinary. However, I like to support independent shops and went against my better judgment. I had had a few decent tune-ups there, and it is in the funky part of downtown--how could it be bad?

ORDINARY BIKES IS A PRETTY GOOD BIKE SHOP IF YOUR NOT A PERSON OF COLOR. ON THE OFF CHANCE THAT YOU ARE, YOU'LL BE MUCH BETTER SERVED AT FAIR WHEEL BIKES ON SIXTH AVE. Customer Service PRETTY DECENT FOR WHITE FOLK. ALL OTHERS STEER CLEAR. Similar Products Used: ROOM TO IMPROVE IN TERMS OF THEIR NON-ANGLO CLIENTEL. I'M WHITE, BUT FIVE FRIENDS OF COLOR HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT SERVICE HERE. |

David Tang corrected all my errors in my project to assemble my Titus from the frame up. He charged an incredibly fair price and did excellent work. Very customer frndly environment. They will get all of my business. They have every tool imaginable to fix any problem Customer Service Fantastic service Similar Products Used: No condescension when reviewing stupid errors that I had made while attempting to assemble my mountain bike. I've experienced that directly or indirectly in other shops. Here they treat the customer right. |

Great service with No BS. They don't try to sell you a bunch of extra crap you don't need. They are a Jamis dealer which makes a great bike for the money. The only negative I can come up with is their selection of bikes on the floor. Not many to choose from but they will order anything you want. |
