I fully agree with anyone who's had negative experiences here with service. The guy who I've dealt with for awhile from the time they were a smaller shop til now, has really changed his attitude from decent to a flat out jerkoff, acting as if it's your fault that he didn't explain the repair and you have questions he doesn't want to ask. Their service before wasn't great, as they replaced parts with alternatives to what I wanted that they had in stock rather than checking first to see if I was agreeable to the change. Their sale tire I bought lasted for one year, not ridden often nor in inclement weather. No wonder it was on sale: old, old stock and also a size that the original wasn't but they put it on without noting the change to me anyway. That was Darren who I believe was laid off a few years ago, but their service hasn't improved, especially the scrappier dude with goatee and moustache who has been there for quite some time. Alll in all, they act like they're sick of dealing with you and your requests for something simple are absurd. Their move to a bigger store brought on a bigger attitude. I'm done with them and found the dudes at Super Champion AWESOME without giving wrong advice or repairs whatsoever, and no matter what people say about boutique shops, I've always been treated well and without attitude.

This shop is very convenient to access, right on Broadway near Ontario Street.
The shop is at ground level so easy to enter with your bike.
There are ample accessories and numerous bikes of various types on display and staffing is sufficient to assist customers.
Extended hours some days allow bike drop-off after regular work hours for those, like me, who use cycle for commuting to workplace.

Customer Service

Staff are able to answer questions and to offer suggestions.
Each time I am in the shop, the telephone is ringing and staff are providing advice and information over the phone to callers.
If you have significant needs, I would recommend going during the week during good cycling weather, as weekends can be hectic.
I dropped off a bicycle for repair on Thursday evening, and it was ready for pick-up Friday noon.
Because of its convenient location, I have used this shop for probably ten years (indluing its earlier site down the street), and never had a negative experience as some reviewers have described.

Each time I get my bike serviced, I leave riding what feels like a new bicycle - the technician works his magic so everything functions smoothly and responsively.
Each time I go in for a service, the staff person writing up the work order has assessed what is really needed and makes reasonable recommendations. The quotation received when I drop off bike is invariably accurate.

P.S. I am actually a commuter, but that is not an option in the 'cyclist experience' field

Located on Broadway across from mec. It's a much larger shop since they moved a few doors down from the little house with the stairs in front.

Customer Service

Typically staff are arrogant. Most recently, on two occasions, the staff have acted as if it's a huge hassle to answer questions. It was like pulling teeth asking simple questions about things like rack compatibility and frame materials about a few models. I've had staff roll their eyes, scoff and snicker as if I should know what telepathically what the highest pressure tires they carry are. Sorry for asking! I had them change my tire once several years ago (still at the old place a few doors down) and they were so nice I bought over $100 in new accessories - it was an older guy I haven't seen working at the new place. Recently i brought my road bike in to get a tire changed and they managed to put the rear wheel on crooked, somehow loosen both brakes, forget the valve cover on the tube and shift the location of my sensor for my cycling computer in the process. Very sloppy techs. Would NOT recommend this shop!

The only reason I come to this shop is that it's the only bike shop with the type of tires I like within 5km of my house, I can't find axoim gloves anywhere else, and it's convenient being right across from mec. Honestly, the shop is good for their selection of *some* items if you know what you want, but is by far the worst for customer service and sketchy to get anything fixed properly.

Typical looking store. Not particularly well planned out. Maintenance area in the back.

Customer Service

Bad experiences, not just once but several times. All about attitude. The boss seems to lead the pack towards arrogance.
They gave my wife the full run-around over some simple tune-up.
I asked to check out some handle bars, mistake. They didn't even have any on display & the sales girl gave me "rolling eyes" type attitude because I didn't know exactly what I wanted.
I test rode a unicycle & the pedal fell off after one revolution. They had the gaul to ask me what I DID !
Attitudes all round are generally a bit snotty & aloof. They've earned a reputation locally. Other bike stores in the area pride themselves on NOT being like this one.

Some of the small bits & pieces are double in price than other places.
OK I think you get the picture that I don't like this store.

The owner Paul is a real $hit sack. Has tainted what would otherwise be a good shop.

Lot's of crap hanging everywhere like all other bike shops.

Customer Service

Summer 2006. I just wanted to rent a mountainbike for the rest of the day until they closed -about 3 more hours. They could have did 1/2 price of a full-day rental. Guess it was too much hassle with the paperwork, etc.
Probably worked out for the better some cop would have probably incarcerated me for having a small pocket knife on my shorts.
